The dangerous practice of “swatting” as a method of political intimidation has brought a holiday season of terror to an expanding list of victims that now includes constitutional law expert Professor Jonathan Turley among others.
A manifestation of the lawlessness that is a product of the two-tiered system of justice that now exists in America, the “prank” calling of police to make false reports bringing a militarized response that could potentially end with a prominent conservative dead in a hail of bullets has exploded over Christmas and New Year’s week as a lack of consequences emboldens the perpetrators.
The professor confirmed that heavily armed police responded to a false 911 call that someone had been shot at his Fairfax County, Virginia home on Friday.
“Yes, I was swatted this evening. It is regrettably a manifestation of our age of rage,” Turley said in a Friday statement. “However, we are grateful to the Fairfax police officers who were highly professional and supportive in responding to this harassment.”
The incident went down on the day after the George Washington University Law School scholar spoke out against “swatting” after several Republican lawmakers were victimized over Christmas, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) who was “swatted” for the eighth time.
“This is a crime that flourishes because there is insufficient deterrent,” Turley told Fox News Digital, adding. “There is no mystery to how to address these crimes. There must be greater detection and penalties to achieve deterrence.”
Also receiving a visit from police was John Paul Mac Isaac, the former owner of the Delaware computer repair shop where the then-crackhead Hunter Biden abandoned his infamous “laptop from hell” that contained evidence of his corrupt and depraved lifestyle.
“My home was swatted tonight, I was not home but the outstanding men and women of the Wilmington PD responded quickly and professionally. All that was achieved was the wasted time of the Wilmington PD. NOTHING, let me repeat that, NOTHING will take me out of this fight! Cheers!” Mac Isaac announced on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday.

Georgia’s Republican Lt. Gov. Burt Jones also revealed that he and his family were also the victims of a malicious false report.
“Last night, my home was “swatted”. This morning, a bomb threat was called to my office. Thankfully everyone is safe, and I commend our local law enforcement officers for their professionalism. Let me be clear — I will not be intimidated by those attempting to silence me. We will put an end to this madness. We are in full compliance with law enforcement, and I am confident that those responsible will be brought to justice and be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Jones said in a Thursday X post.

In addition to the lieutenant governor, Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that additional “swatting” victims included a “half-dozen or so” state lawmakers and predicted a legislative response in the new year.
A half-dozen or so Georgia lawmakers have confirmed they have been “swatted” in recent days, and I’ve heard privately from others. Don’t be surprised to see legislation in January aimed at increasing penalties on the perpetrators and other steps to deter this crime. #gapol https://t.co/hKv08pnXWe

Rep. Greene who also had family members who were targeted this week – including both of her daughters – vowed to introduce legislation when Congress returns from its latest taxpayer-funded extended vacation.
“The dangerous swatting harassment continues, as tonight, one of my family members was swatted at their house,” MTG said last week. “I will be introducing legislation to make it much easier for law enforcement to arrest and prosecutors to prosecute these criminals.”

“Swatting calls are coming in on many Members of Congress, Senators, State Reps and Mayors and Lt Governors, and many members of our families. Is our government under attack?” MTG asked in another X post. “Swatting calls are also police harassment and an attack on police. We need to stop this now.”
Other GOP lawmakers who were victims of “swatting” incidents this week were Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY) and its probably safe to expect that there will be more considering the partisan nature of the federal law enforcement apparatus which doesn’t seem to be too interested in tracking down the criminals responsible as long as its only Republicans being targeted.
