Former President Joe Biden allegedly mulled pardoning President Donald J. Trump, an uncharacteristic act of mercy for his hated political foe.
Utah’s Republican Gov. Spencer Cox made the stunning claim in an excerpt from his forthcoming book, “Off Ramp: How to Be a Peacemaker in an Age of Contempt,” published by The Atlantic on Thursday.
Cox recalls a conversation with the dementia-addled Democrat while the two men were sitting in an armored presidential limo in Salt Lake City during Biden’s visit on August 9, 2023.
“Mr. President, I know this might sound crazy,” the GOP governor told the former president, “but I think you should pardon Donald Trump.”
Spencer Cox: “I know this might sound crazy, but I think you should pardon Donald Trump.”
Joe Biden to Cox: “You know, I’ve actually considered this for a while. In fact, just this week as we were lying in bed, Jill and I had a long conversation about it.”

According to the surprised governor, the then-president “perked up” at the idea.
“You know, I’ve actually considered this for a while,” Biden said, according to Cox. “In fact, just this week as we were lying in bed, Jill and I had a long conversation about it.”
According to The Atlantic, “Biden said that although people were ‘demanding justice’ for Trump, he would seriously consider a pardon.”
The alleged conversation took place shortly after Trump was indicted by the Biden regime’s ruthless lawfare goon Jack Smith on charges related to the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, and that he attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 election, a contest that to this day, Trump maintains wasn’t on the up-and-up and was rigged against him.
A week after the conversation, Trump was also indicted in Fulton County, Georgia, by scandal-ridden District Attorney Fani Willis on RICO charges relating to the 2020 election.
Both cases ultimately collapsed, and Trump went on to be re-elected in 2024.
A veritable human pardon machine, the former president dispensed with clemency and a slew of novel preemptive pardons for some of the greatest malefactors of the 21st century in his final months in office, including Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, disgraced former congresswoman Liz Cheney and the entire J6 select committee gang along with former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, just before he departed D.C. for good.
He also pardoned his scoundrel son, ex-crackhead and sexual degenerate Hunter Biden, as well as the entire Biden crime family. But Trump didn’t make the cut.
“When I spoke with President Biden, I hoped he would choose mercy over escalation,” Cox wrote. “When I wrote to President Trump, I hoped he would choose unity over retaliation. In both cases, things didn’t turn out quite the way I’d hoped.”
“It would be fair to suggest I failed,” he said, disappointed that Biden didn’t choose to take the high road over the vengeful one.
