MSNBC host Joy Reid once again likened Senate Republicans to “Dixiecrat” segregationists in an unjustified race-based smear during a segment on her show Monday as she discussed conservative opposition to the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

The Senate voted 53 to 47 on Monday to proceed with the confirmation of Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court with three Republicans joining Democrats. Sens. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Susan Collins (R-ME) all bucked their party to join forces with leftists in the push for confirmation of President Joe Biden’s nominee.

Jackson’s soft record on crime, doling out lenient sentences in several child pornography cases as a trial judge, was focused on during the hearings. So was Jackson’s support of Critical Race Theory and the fact that she evidently does not support “Natural Rights” as delineated in the Declaration of Independence.

Reid railed against Republicans to her guest failed New York City mayoral candidate Maya Wiley, asserting that their opposition to Jackson’s confirmation is because they are the new “Dixiecrats.”

“It definitely felt for me like watching the Dixiecrats vs. the northern Democrats in the 1960s on civil rights. It sounded like if you put yourself there, that’s how that sounded. Now, I feel like I know how that sounded,” Reid proclaimed attempting to make the entire issue about race in a typical divisive tactic employed by the left.

Reid is still comparing Republicans to segregationists and is now suggesting that Senate Republicans will end up on the “Dixiecrat side of history.”

“Do you think ultimately, the history books, do you think they’ll even care that they’ll come down on the ‘Dixiecrat’ side of history here?” Reid asked Wiley.

“I won’t say that I know the answer to that question, Joy, but I will say this. I certainly hope so,” she replied.

“When Judge Katanji Brown Jackson is JUSTICE Ketanji Brown Jackson, just know that none of the modern-day Dixiecrats: @LindseyGrahamSC @TomCottonAR @HawleyMO @SenMikeLee and the rest have ANY PART in the advancement of this country toward a multiracial democracy. And too bad,” Reid also tweeted.

“Dixiecrat” is a reference to the States’ Rights Democratic Party that sheered off from the Democrats in 1948 following President Harry Truman enforcing the integration of the military. It was comprised primarily of Southern Democrats and was disbanded following the 1948 presidential election after Truman was re-elected.

Reid compared Republicans to “Dixiecrats” in January as well when they opposed Biden’s voting reforms according to Mediaite.

“You know, funny enough, that is exactly what the old version of the ‘Dixiecrats’ said, back during the 1950s and ‘60s,” Reid said at the time referring to Mitch McConnell’s opposition to Biden’s voting rights legislation. “Oh, no one is being prevented from voting.”

“You just have to tell us how many jelly beans are in this jar and you can vote. Just read this complicated passage and you can totally vote. Now, of course, we’re going to make sure your schools are awful and you’re barely even taught to read, let alone anything like this passage, but no one is keeping you from voting. The more ‘Dixiecrats,’ interpositionists, and nullificationists change, the more they stay the same,” she falsely claimed.
