KC Star editorial calls for outspoken Chief’s player to be fired, replaced with FEMALE kicker

The Kansas City Star ran a guest editorial calling on the defending hometown Super Bowl champions to boot kicker Harrison Butker off the team for suggesting that having children and raising a family can be worthy goals.

Penned by Peter Hamm, who’s billed as “a public affairs professional for nonprofits, government agencies and political campaigns,” the solution offered would very likely be embraced by the Chiefs’ opponents in the upcoming 2024 season — at least, privately anyway.

Hamm calls for Butker to be replaced with a female kicker. Some may argue that this will actually level the playing field when teams face star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“For poetic justice after Harrison Butker’s Neanderthal outburst — and because the pipeline of talent is real — the Kansas City Chiefs’ next kicker should be a woman,” Hamm wrote. “This is not a joke. It’s not unrealistic. And it would be good for business. Just ask the University of Manitoba how ticket sales were last year.”

Butker’s real crime, in the eyes of the left, is that he dared to call President Joe Biden, an alleged Catholic, “delusional” for supporting the “murder of innocent babies.” The slam came during his commencement address at Benedictine College, a private Catholic liberal arts school, where the NFL player declared that “abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for the degenerate cultural values and media, all stem from pervasiveness of disorder.”

The outcry has been deafening, with even the woke NFL rushing to reaffirm its “commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

At the same time, interestingly, his jersey sales took off.

As for Hamm, his goal appears to be to get the Christian player to “shut his mouth.”

“The Chiefs need to make a strategic call about Butker’s future with the team,” he said. “If he could agree to shut his mouth, the current story might fade. There are, after all, plenty of athletes with backward cultural views, but they’re tolerated if they can mostly stick to sports cliches in interviews. If they’re superstars, they sometimes can keep yapping and get away with it.”

At the same time, Hamm named a number of female kickers whom he believed would be worthy replacements.

Harrison Butker is not Patrick Mahomes. He’s a special teams player,” he concluded. “That gives him less leverage with the team. They could trade him for a solid kicker, or they could make a statement by signing a woman to kick. Liz Heaston, Ashley Martin, Katie Hnida or Sarah Fuller might take a call. Maya Turner would likely give serious thought to an offer.”
