Lara Trump vows if she’s elected to RNC chair, ‘every penny’ will go to electing Donald J. Trump

Donald Trump announced late Monday that he is backing Michael Whatley, chair of the North Carolina Republican Party, as the next Republican National Committee chairman, and daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair. The former president also endorsed senior adviser Chris LaCivita as chief financial officer for the committee.

Incumbent RNC chair Ronna McDaniel is rumored to be on the outs and is expected to step down after the South Carolina primary later this month amid criticism over fundraising shortfalls and excessive spending.

“Lara is an extremely talented communicator and is dedicated to all that MAGA stands for,” Trump said in a statement. “She has told me she wants to accept this challenge and would be GREAT!”

Lara, who is married to Trump’s son Eric, appeared on Newsmax to discuss changes at the RNC, and her remarks had the liberal media worked up in a lather, claiming that she would “give all the RNC’s money to Donald Trump.”

“Here’s what I can tell you. The RNC needs to be the leanest, most lethal political fighting machine we’ve ever seen in American history,” Lara said. “That is the goal over the next nine and a half months. If I am elected to this position, I can assure you, there will not be any more $70,000 or whatever exorbitant amount of money it was spent on flowers.”

“Every single penny will go to the number one and the only job of the RNC. That is electing Donald J. Trump as president of the United States and saving this country,” she continued. “We have no time to waste. We’ve got to get to work. We’ve got a lot of money to raise and we need to ensure that every penny goes to those things that I just mentioned.”

So there you have it. Lara Trump is on record saying if she is tapped to be a part of the GOP governing body that’s focused on winning elections that she will dedicate all resources to electing a GOP candidate for president.

The dirty little secret the media doesn’t share is that turning out Republican voters helps candidates down ballot as well, and on that note Lara voiced a solid plan of action.

“We need to be playing chess and not checkers,” she said. “And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing, unfortunately. The Democrats have been playing a completely different game. We need to catch up and we need to outdo them at that game.”

“We better have, at the Republican National Committee, a ground game operation the likes of which this country has never seen. We better be doing voter registration in record numbers. We also better be doing legal ballot harvesting all across this country because those are things the Democrats always outdo us on,” she continued. “We better start telling people to go vote early. We have this notion that it would be nice if we had one day of voting. I would love that. You would probably love that. We’d love to give people the day off of work, and we’d love to have paper ballots. We don’t have it right now. So we need to bank enough votes going into Election Day that we aren’t trying to play catch up that day.”
