Largest teachers union in America recommend gay porn memoir ‘Gender Queer’ in summer reading list

The largest teachers union in America, the National Education Association (NEA), mind-blowingly recommended on Monday that educators include in their summer reading lists the controversial and widely banned book “Gender Queer.”

The NEA brazenly featured the book on its “Great Summer Reads for Educators!” list that recommended 11 books. Among those books was “White Fragility,” which is a book that contends white Americans use anger, shame, and guilt to avoid taking responsibility for racial inequality. The social justice tome is a mainstay of the Left.

Other sections of the recommendations include “books to help you forget about work” and “books to celebrate or help you understand Juneteenth.” The list has a “banned books” section which recommends “Gender Queer” as reading material.

“Gender Queer” has been slammed by many American parents for being allowed to remain on school bookshelves across the country. Many call it “pornographic” due to its depictions and descriptions of oral sex as well as discussions on masturbation aimed at kids. Parents assert that it is not appropriate for school children.

“Gender Queer” author, Maia Kobabe, hotly defended the sexually explicit graphic images in the memoir during an interview with NPR in January.

“And I honestly think the book is a lot less explicit than it could be,” Kobabe outrageously told the media outlet in the interview.

“The topic of gender touches on identity… and it touches on sexuality,” the author added. “And it’s hard to fully explain I think what like how a gender identity can impact every facet of life as an adult without touching at least a little bit on sexuality. And I wanted to at least not to like shy away from that.”

The book also gets into Kobabe’s self-discovery journey toward identifying outside the “gender binary.”

Erika Sanzi, who is the director of outreach for Parents Defending Education, said that the list is steeped in ideology which is unsurprising since NEA has become an organization focused on “race and gender that pays zero attention to student outcomes or parents’ concerns.”

The recommended summer reading for teachers follows the president of the National Education Association declaring that racial and social justice is a “pillar” of the NEA’s efforts.

“For us at the NEA, education justice must be about racial justice, it must be about social justice, it must be about climate justice. It must be about all of those things,” NEA President Becky Pringle proclaimed, according to Fox News.

“For our students to be able to come to school ready to learn every day – we can never think of education as an isolated system because everything connects to our students’ ability to learn. So, we have to necessarily talk about housing justice, food inequality, and the reality that we all just went through a global pandemic together and of course, it was the most marginalized communities that were already suffering from the inequities in every single social system in this country and every country,” she railed.
