Lauren Boebert’s Democrat rival sees donations soar as A-list celebs, blue state donors chip in

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s former Democrat rival is hoping to succeed in his second bid to oust her from the Colorado congressional seat – and now he has some well-funded liberal help.

The 2022 midterm race saw a tight race between Boebert and Adam Frisch who lost by a few hundred votes. But the Democrat is determined to take another shot at unseating Boebert who came under criticism for her behavior in September at a performance of Beetlejuice at Denver’s Buell Theater.

Hollywood A-listers are among the who’s who of names donating to the Frisch campaign, prompting the GOP lawmaker to reach out to supporters last week asking for campaign donations in the race for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district.

“My opponent has plenty of funding from Soros dark money and even Hollywood liberals like Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds,” Boebert wrote on X, warning, “If we lose Colorado’s 3rd District, the House is in MAJOR jeopardy of falling into Democrat hands.”

The Daily Mail reported that Reynolds and Streisand “have been joined by Eagles founder Don Henley, actor and director Rob Reiner, as well as Johnny Cash’s daughter Rosanne Cash in donating to Adam Frisch’s 2023 campaign.”

“Data shows Reynolds has donated $1,500 to Frisch’s campaign, Henley has donated $6,600, Streisand has donated $1,000, Reiner has donated $3,300 and Cash has donated $550,” the outlet noted.

According to the Federal Election Commission, Frisch’s campaign raised $7,769,641.43 between January 1 and September 30 this year while Boebert pulled in $2,435,743.58 for the same period.

Last month, Boebert thanked supporters “who have stood by me and continued to support our grassroots-led campaign” and expressed confidence in getting the needed resources to “win in 2024.”

Jeff Hurd is one of the Republican candidates running against Boebert and believes she is a liability.

“Hurd’s campaign argues that Boebert’s name is motivating grassroots donors from blue states to get involved with the Colorado contest,” Newsweek reported.

“Every Republican should be disappointed and worried with all the out-of-state liberal money flooding into the district,” Hurd’s campaign told Newsweek. “Unfortunately, our current representative is directly responsible for the liberals of California and New York to come in and buy the Colorado 3rd. It is because of her divisive rhetoric, distracting public antics, and lack of attention to the district we are even in this position.”

And it seems some of that “out-of-state liberal money” is coming straight from Hollywood.
