In response to President Donald Trump’s tariffs, the Chinese have reportedly produced an AI video mocking the American people.
Seen below, the video takes aim at the president’s vision of returning manufacturing to the United States by depicting tired, frustrated, depressed, overworked, and obese Americans toiling away at factory jobs.

According to reports, the video first appeared on Chinese social media before popping up on American social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter/X, where it’s since gone mega viral.
In going viral, the video has attracted joy and laughter from liberals who think Trump’s tariffs are foolhardy. Conversely, it’s sparked anger from Trump supporters who find the video outright insulting.
“What exactly is your point?” one X user asked. “My mom worked in a sewing factory for 15 years, she raised us after dad left, stayed off welfare & kept food on the table & a roof over our heads. It was a good job, thankful she had it.”
“What’s funny?” another X user wondered. “I worked just factories like this for years. One of them closed down, and a small town lost a lot of jobs. Is it the AI fat guys doing the work, or are you just laughing at people working in a factory? Seriously confused.”
Another X user noted that factory jobs already exist in the States.
“I have to laugh at this. There are Americans gutting chickens and pigs at poultry and pork factories all over the country, but Americans cannot make a phone or a nice pair of denim jeans?” they wrote. “Americans are making harsh washing detergents and toilet paper at factories, but cannot make an iPhone or battery?”

What makes this and the original post pathetic is that these jobs still exist in smaller companies, and many people work them happily because they have a freaking job. What out-of-touch dimwit created this?

The American worker is to be respected. My mother worked in a plant that made blouses of the highest quality. My dad worked in a cotton mill. They kept us fed, and managed to put 3 kids through college. Shame on you!

Being from Yorkshire where in the 1970s all mines and factories closed. Having seen the ramifications of this. I welcome back jobs for people. No job is a small job. And having meaning brought by employment is invaluable in society.

A big reason we are in trouble is because Democrats like elitism. They want you to think dressing up in costumes and dancing in front of cameras is more honorable than working jobs like this.
World has never been about fun and passion. Always been about survival and community.

Critics also pushed back by noting that at least adults would be performing the work in an American factory. Whereas China is notorious for allowing children to work in dangerous factory settings.
One particularly angry critic dared the Chinese to make an AI video of “malnourished Chinese children and Uyghurs with missing kidneys” working in a factory.
All this comes amid an escalation of the ongoing tariff/trade war between the United States and China.
“China has pushed back once again to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies by hiking its levies on U.S. imports to more than 80%,” CNBC reported early Wednesday morning.
“China’s Office of the Tariff Commission of the State Council said that tariffs on U.S. goods will rise to 84% from 34% starting on April 10, according to a translation of the announcement. This comes after the latest U.S. tariff hike — which brings levies on Chinese goods to more than 100% — took effect at the start of April 9,” the reporting continued.
Meanwhile, “Shark Tank” co-host Kevin O’Leary is now calling for even higher tariffs on China.
Listen:
Kevin O’Leary: “104% tariffs in China are not enough. I’m advocating for 400%. I do business in China—they don’t play by the rules.”
“Xi can only stay the Supreme Leader if people are employed…”
