The holdout juror responsible for the Lindsay Clancy mistrial has publicly spoken out for the first time amid a media smear campaign to besmirch his character.
Michael P. Desronvil rebutted the claims of his fellow jurors that he had doubts about the prosecution’s case in the murder trail that captivated the nation, with millions of women glomming onto the Massachusetts mother who brutally killed her own three children as some sort of twisted heroine.
The 48-year-old black man was the lone juror who refused to buy Clancy’s insanity defense that the killings were the product of the postpartum psychosis that she allegedly suffered from.
In a statement to NewsNation, Desronvil defended himself, explaining that he had no doubts that the accused murderess knew exactly what she was doing when she methodically and brutally strangled her kids during a horrifying rampage in January 2023 at the family’s home and then jumped out of a window in an attempted suicide.

“I didn’t have any doubts. As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence present,” he said.
“Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she (Clancy) knew exactly what she was doing and planned,“ Desronvil stated.
After the mistrial, the media has featured a number of his fellow jurors who have taken shots at a man who has been called “an American Hero and Champion of Justice” for standing his ground and having the principles to resist the immense pressure put on him to let Clancy off the hook.
“There was several times I would ask him to show us evidence or describe a witness testimony that helped to prove what he was saying, and he couldn’t,” juror Nick Dargie told ABC News.

Three other Clancy jurors also claimed that Desronvil admitted “reasonable doubt” but wouldn’t acquit.
“He admitted he had reasonable doubt,” jury foreperson, Roni Carlson told Boston’s WBTS. “I started filling out the forms. I was so excited… And then he said, ‘But I’m still not gonna say that she’s not guilty by reason of insanity.’”

Following a week of deliberations during which Desronvil refused to crack, the 11-1 deadlock led to Judge William Sullivan declaring a mistrial, infuriating Clancy’s supporters.
At first his identity was kept confidential until another juror spilled the beans that he was black, a detail that surprised a visibly unsettled Gayle King, the longtime “CBS Mornings” anchor who once bemoaned there being too many white people at President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration.

After the mistrial, Desronvil was doxed as professional character assassins in the media went to work, digging through his past to find a domestic abuse allegation and that he failed to pay his rent. A chilling message to future jurors if the state of Massachusetts chooses to retry the case.
“The question is whether they could ever get a jury, particularly in Massachusetts, that would unanimously vote against this defendant,” constitutional law expert Professor Jonathan Turley told Fox News Digital. “For prosecutors, they have to weigh that, but they may find the alternative equally unappealing — to simply walk away and say, ‘There are three dead children here, but we just don’t think we could ever win this case.'”
Attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik who is now representing Desronvil said that he is “presently safe and sound at an undisclosed secure location in a rural area of Northern New England.”
“This American Hero and Champion of Justice loves the United States of America as the greatest country in the world; cherishes our sacred Constitution as the pinnacle of human liberty; and supports our amazing leader, President Donald J. Trump, as a fellow defender of common-sense, liberty, and sanity,” he wrote in a Thursday post to X
“Rest assured that the evil people who have so viciously attacked this American Hero and Champion of Justice will be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law and beyond. In the meantime, though, he has persevered and remains utterly unbroken thanks to his devout Catholic Faith. As a devoted father and man of God, he will not be defeated or shattered by the wicked who wish harm upon him,” Paltzik said of his client.
