A man who scolded a father who took his two young daughters into an empty gas station women’s restroom has been fired after video of the incident went viral on social media.
Tyler Brodsky was traveling back to Oklahoma with his family from Florida when he stopped off at a QuikTrip station in Alabama, where he took the girls for what he thought would be an uneventful and routine bathroom break, but the rude customer had other ideas, shouting him down and calling the cops.
“I knocked and announced that I’m coming in with two girls, which, at this time, the bathroom was empty,” Brodsky explained during an appearance on “Fox & Friends First.”

“This guy comes in, starts yelling, demanding that we need to leave, I should have taken them to the men’s restroom, which I disagreed with,” he said. “I’ve personally been in men’s restrooms. I just didn’t feel like it was a good place to take two little girls.”
In the video, one of Brodsky’s daughters is seen crying as the irate man was going off. A gas station employee closed the door and apologized to the dad and his young girls.
Now Brodsky is getting media attention over the ordeal, and the man who irrationally melted down caught the attention of his now-former employer, a Starkville, Mississippi-based real estate firm.
“The conduct depicted in the video does not reflect the values of Overstreet Properties or the standards we expect of those who represent our organization. Our focus remains on providing quality service to our clients, partners, and community,” the company said in a post to social media announcing it had ended its relationship with man who some have dubbed as a “male Karen” after the video went viral.
🚨 SHAMEFUL: A male Karen called the cops on a father who brought his young daughters into the women’s restroom because no family restroom was available.
Thankfully, police sided with the father. Common sense still exists. 👏🏾 pic.twitter.com/lwMNdwkcKo

“He kept escalating it. He kept yelling at us — on the phone with the police,” Brodsky told Oklahoma City local news outlet KFOR.
“He was being pretty aggressive, so I didn’t know what was going to happen there,” the dad continued. “So, I just wanted to make sure it was all documented for my safety, my kids’ safety.”
He also explained that he stayed cool to avoid further aggravating the hotheaded troublemaker.
“I am with my girls, and they were already scared, so I didn’t want to escalate the matter any further. I wanted to be there for them and let them know that nothing is going to happen, and that’s really all I had on my mind was my girls, you know,” Brodsky said.
“It’s a scary thing for little girls, so I tried to just do the best I could in the moment and keep them calm. But they’re doing well now,” he told “Fox & Friends First” co-host Todd Piro.
“I’ve seen a lot of support in the comments, especially for girl dads. Take your girls to the women’s restroom. I mean, they’re clean, they’re safe. The women are supportive of it. Just announce that you’re going in there and make sure that they are okay with it, speak to an employee, make sure that they’re okay with it. They’re kids, you know, that’s all we want to do is keep them safe,” Brodsky told KFOR, adding that he’s forgiven the man.
An Overstreet Properties rep told TMZ, “the man was an independent contractor and licensed realtor on a trip not affiliated with the company … and since the bathroom video made national headlines … the company decided to no longer use his services — because their ‘values’ don’t align.”
