Mayorkas claims domestic terror greatest threat to America, but can’t come up with even ONE example

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has had a grueling week, having spent two days testifying before a House committee on Capitol Hill, during which he tried desperately to defend the Biden administration’s disastrous border policies and failed epically to cite a single example of domestic terrorism, despite his repeated insistence that the greatest threat to America  is “white supremacists” and “domestic violent extremism.”

Earlier this month, Mayorkas stated, “The greatest terrorism-related threat that we face in the homeland is the threat of domestic violent extremism. The most prominent threat is the threat of White supremacists.”

Regardless of COVID-19, the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the apprehension of alleged terrorists at our largely-open border with Mexico,  claims of dangerous domestically-grown radicals are an oft-repeated Mayorkas mantra.

In June, Mayorkas touted the “first-ever National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism,” calling it “the most significant and persistent terrorism-related threat to the homeland today.”

And in August, he announced DHS had “redoubled our efforts to prevent acts of targeted violence and domestic terrorism through a whole-of-society approach.”

“In combating targeted violence and domestic terrorism,” Mayorkas said, “we protect our homeland, the American public, and our values as a Nation.”

But strangely, when asked by Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) to share the number of cases involving white supremacists or violent domestic extremism the DHS has referred to the Department of Justice, Mayorkas was mum.

“Do you not have the number?” Steube asked a blank Mayorkas. “You just clarified — domestic terrorism is a threat to the homeland, number one threat — and I’m asking you how many referrals from Homeland Security have you made to DOJ for White supremacy or domestic terrorism?”

“I will provide you with that information…” Mayorkas responded.

“So you don’t know?” Steube pressed, asking if Mayorkas could “name one case?”

Again, Mayorkas could only offer to “provide the data” to Steube.

“So you can’t name one case,” Steube stated, “yet according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Justice, almost half of all the criminals prosecuted in federal courts in 2018 were aliens charged with crimes — ranging from drug trafficking to murder and to kidnapping — and a vast majority — 38,000 — were illegal immigrants, illegal aliens. But it’s still, domestic terrorism is the number one cause of your concerns.”

Rep. Steube posted the exchange to his Twitter account, and, in just 48-hours, received 12,000 retweets and nearly 40,000 likes.

One Twitter user responded with an “Amen,” and stated, “If we don’t keep the pressure on these communists activist we the American people will soon feel the pressure of their socialistic Jack boots on our throats.”

“You don’t have to take my word for it,” the user added, “history has proven it repeatedly.”

“Thanks Congressman,” tweeted another. “You’re exposing the fake BS they’re spewing.”

“I have yet to see this man answer a question,” replied a third. “We would be much better putting people in positions based on their knowledge rather than their political affiliation.”

“This is tax payer dollars?” the user asked. “I want my money back.”
