Billionaire Oprah Winfrey spoke at the DNC on Wednesday, sparking a heap of backlash with her comments.
The first questionable comment was her claim that she has experienced sexism, racism, and income inequality in the same country that gave her everything she has now.

“From the redwood forests, love those redwoods, to the gulf stream waters, I’ve seen racism, and sexism, and income inequality, and division,” she said. “I’ve not only seen it, at times, I’ve been on the receiving end of it.”
This “I’m just like you guys” energy didn’t sit right with podcaster Megyn Kelly, who quickly called out the billionaire.
Of course Oprah had to mention the racism and misogyny she’s faced … from a country that made her world famous and a mega-billionaire and shown her enormous love and adoration.

“Of course, Oprah had to mention the racism and misogyny she’s faced … from a country that made her world-famous and a mega-billionaire and shown her enormous love and adoration,” Kelly wrote.
At another point, she attempted to extoll Democrats’ virtues by painting them to be the political version of “colorblind.” Naturally, this came with a swipe at former President Donald Trump’s VP pick J.D. Vance.

“Despite what some would have you think, we are not so different from our neighbors. When a house is on fire, we don’t ask about the homeowner’s race or religion. We don’t wonder who their partner is or how they voted,” Oprah said. “No, we just try to do the best we can to save them and if the place happens to belong to a childless cat lady, well, we try and get that cat out, too. Because we are a country of people who work hard for the money, we wish our brothers and sisters well and we pray for peace.”
Perhaps Oprah forgot the part she played in launching Vance into the public eye.
In December 2020, The Chicago Tribune wrote that the book “Hillbilly Elegy” had been featured in Oprah’s famous Book Club, which turned Vance into a household name overnight.
Boosted by Oprah’s Book Club, among other notables, Vance suddenly became a sought-after Trump translator on talk shows in the fashion of “Luther,” President Barack Obama’s fictitious “anger translator” created by the “Key & Peele” comedy team.
It didn’t take long for people to rip into the billionaire on social media:
Oprah thought she was better than she was.

I can’t roll my eyes enough. America made Oprah incredibly wealthy in a way no other country could have. In return they get this.

I’m 46. Oprah has been loved by almost everyone my whole life.

Oprah says we’re not going back. Back to what? Low food costs? Energy independence? Higher wages? Better jobs? Good grief. The fact that she thinks she can relate to everyday Americans is laughable.

I can’t decide who is more oppressed. Her or the Obama’s.

I would come home from school and watch the Oprah show during my teen years. I admired her. I respected her.
That has ended because I learned she’s a fraud.

Reminds me of Michelle Obama playing victim when First Lady.
These hypocritical liars never get tired of race-baiting. Even when they have more privilege than 99.9999% of Americans.
