Hours after President-elect Donald Trump delivered a victory speech following an epic election win, his wife Melania Trump shared a message promising his administration would “safeguard the heart of our republic.”
The former first lady took to social media with a message on Wednesday after having shared the stage with family and friends as Trump praised his “beautiful wife” and spoke to supporters following his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.
“The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility,” Mrs. Trump wrote on X. “We will safeguard the heart of our republic — freedom. I anticipate the citizens of our nation rejoining in commitment to each other and rising above ideology for the sake of individual liberty, economic prosperity, and security.”

“American energy, skill, and initiative will bring together our best minds to propel our nation forward forevermore,” she added.
The former first lady had remained out of the spotlight at the beginning of Trump’s 2024 campaign, but she began to make more appearances in the last few months notably promoting the release of her memoir, “Melania.” She repeatedly defended the former president from the attacks against him amid the left’s divisive rhetoric.
“He’s not Hitler, and all of his supporters, [they’re] standing behind him because they want [to] see [the] country successful, and we see how — what kind of support he has,” she said in an interview on “Fox & Friends” last month.
On Election Day, the Slovenian-born former model shared a photo of the couple’s 18-year-old son, Barron, who voted for the first time on Tuesday.
