MLB superstar rocks t-shirt with message for Joe Biden at Spring Training

In an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that aired this week, rocker Kid Rock boasted about his “Let’s Go Brandon” edition Rolls Royce and told Carlson there are “a ton” of celebrities and other stars who think like him but who remain in the closet with their views, adding that “they have no idea how many of us there are.”

Right on cue, San Diego Padres’ third baseman Manny Machado raised a lot of eyebrows when he turned out for a media appearance on Wednesday rocking a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ t-shirt.

“Padres superstar Manny Machado repping a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ shirt at Spring Training,” KUSI News tweeted, in sharing a photo of Machado.

The now-iconic phrase originated when an NBC Sports reporter was interviewing winning NASCAR driver Brandon Brown after he won a race earlier at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway. The interview came at the time that chanting the phrase “F**k Joe Biden!” was popular at sporting events and as the crowd began the infamous chant, the reporter appeared to mistake what they were saying as “Let’s go, Brandon!”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

As for Machado, the brave feat of sporting an “LGB” t-shirt takes on even more meaning when considering that Major League Baseball, like most other professional sports leagues, has gone fully woke following the death of George Floyd — MLB even allowed the phrase “Black Lives Matter” to be painted on pitching mounds at one point.

While some believe that Machado will ultimately pay a price for his actions, others feel just as strongly that perhaps he alone can save baseball — here’s a quick sampling of responses from Twitter:
