New York City braces as ICE enforcement talk ramps up under Homan

President Donald Trump’s border czar is promising increased immigration enforcement action in New York City.

During a visit to Fox News’s ‘Fox & Friends,’ Tom Homan revealed that NYC is going to be the target of ramped-up Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. This comes after Governor Kathy Hochul and Democrats passed enhanced sanctuary protections, which also include bans on law enforcement wearing masks and preventing state and local authorities from partaking in immigration enforcement actions. Federal authorities are also banned from using local incarceration facilities to carry out enforcement arrests.

“I made her a promise, you’re going to see more ICE agents than you’ve ever seen in New York City, and it’s coming,” he said. “I just reviewed an operational plan. I’m not going to tell you exactly when it’s going to happen, but it’s coming.”

“I’m keeping my promise. We are going to send more ICE agents to New York because you took away the efficiencies of safe arrests in county jails,” Homan added.
