Nicki Minaj gushes over Trump, Vance, and administration ‘full of people with heart and soul’

A rapper’s surprise appearance at AmericaFest 2025 found her sharing the “utmost respect and admiration” for the president, vice president, and an administration “full of people with heart and soul.”

Outside of leftist echo chambers, President Donald Trump has routinely shown himself to be a positive force for unifying figures from all backgrounds. That quality reached a new level on Sunday when Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk invited Nicki Minaj on stage at AmFest, where the rapper praised Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance for being “one of us.”

“I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president,” Minaj told Kirk during their on-stage discussion. “I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win, and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact.”

“This administration is full of people with heart and soul. And they make me proud of them. Our vice president, he makes me — well, I love both of them … They’re both powerful men — smart, strong, all of that — but, both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to,” she continued as she added, “When I hear them speak, I know that they’re one of us.”

After turning to the cheering crowd and asking, “Don’t you guys agree?” Minaj went on, “They haven’t lost touch of the world. You know, they’re still connected to the world. And what’s happening in the world, with the younger people and older people, with the richer people and not-so-rich people. They have the ability to still connect and be real and make us feel proud to be American.”

In recent weeks, Minaj has not only used her platform to speak out on behalf of persecuted Christians in Nigeria — reaffirming on stage, “We will speak up for Christians wherever they are in this world” — she also took a stand against the radical left and, in particular, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) support of gender ideology.

While this led to a childish response from Newsom’s director of communications, who faced backlash for his post that labeled the rapper a “Stupid Hoe,” she earned nothing but cheers at AmFest for her past statements on the governor of the once-Golden State before she added, “Dear Newscum, we don’t have a problem cleaning up the scum if we have to. Please tread lightly. That’s what I would say to Gavvy Pooh.”

Minaj’s refusal to compromise on her beliefs and willingness to voice them continued to earn her praise, both for rising above the standard celebrity zeitgeist on the administration and for addressing issues of true import.

“A lot of celebrities spend a lot of time spewing nonsense,” wrote one user in response to her defense of Christians. “Raising awareness about the actual persecution of Christians, especially in places like Africa and the Middle East, is actually a very worthy cause. Good for her.”
