‘Oh, the irony!’ Musk sues Anti-Defamation League for $22 BILLION for trying to destroy X with smears

Elon Musk has had it with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) accusing him of being antisemitic and is threatening to sue them after their defamation has allegedly led to X losing a great deal of revenue.

The tech mogul is threatening to smack the ADL with a “roughly $22 billion” lawsuit, claiming it has attempted to destroy X by smearing him.

Musk sent out a number of tweets on Monday night announcing that he plans to go to court against the ADL.

“To clear our platform’s name on the matter of anti-Semitism, it looks like we have no choice but to file a defamation lawsuit against the Anti-Defamation League … oh the irony!” he wrote.

“In our case, they would potentially be on the hook for destroying half the value of the company, so roughly $22 billion,” Musk stated in response to a user claiming, “Wouldn’t be the first time the Defamation League would be found to have defamed people.”

According to the Daily Mail, in May the social media platform’s revenue fell to one-third of what it was when Musk first purchased X. It went from $45 billion to $15 billion in six months.

Musk made it clear on X that he is not antisemitic, “To be super clear, I’m pro free speech, but against anti-Semitism of any kind.”

“Since the acquisition, The @ADL has been trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic,” the billionaire also pointed out.

“Our US advertising revenue is still down 60%, primarily due to pressure on advertisers by @ADL (that’s what advertisers tell us), so they almost succeeded in killing X/Twitter!” Musk charged.

Musk contends that the ADL has actively lobbied advertisers to not use X because he has relaxed the rules on hate speech and harassment.

Some of Musk’s supporters are now pushing “#BanTheADL” online for its defamatory conduct. However, he asserts he has no plans to ban the ADL anytime soon.

“Despite the immense harm ADL has done to X/Twitter, they still will not be banned in this platform, unless they break the law,” Musk declared.

So far, the lawsuit appears to still be a threat. But Musk is not one to make idle threats. In August, X filed a lawsuit against a nonprofit group that monitors hate speech for similar reasons.

Attorneys for the social media platform claimed that the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) orchestrated a “scare campaign to drive away advertisers from the X platform.”

The legal team also accused CCDH of committing “a series of unlawful acts designed to improperly gain access” to the platform’s data.

The ADL was slammed on X and there was a ton of support for Musk:
