Police offer explanation on severity of Bob Saget’s fatal head injuries, doubts still arise

Speculations and suspicions continue to swirl around the sudden death of beloved comedian Bob Saget, and now investigators believe Saget, 65, must have passed out and struck his head on the marble floor in his Florida hotel room’s bathroom, then regained consciousness, made his way to bed, and subsequently died of a brain bleed, according to a new report from People Magazine.

After finding Saget dead, in bed, on January 9, and after finding drugs were not involved, authorities ruled his death an accident and claimed Saget had hit his head on the headboard and, not realizing the severity of the blow, simply went to sleep.

The explanation swiftly fell short, when it was revealed by medical experts that the stand-up comedian’s injuries were so severe, it looked more like someone took a baseball bat to his head or that he had fallen from a height of 30 feet.

The family of Saget, however, appeared to accept the explanation and, as American Wire News reported, sought an injunction to prevent further details of his death from being released. Naturally, the move only added fuel to an already blazing fire burning among the star’s fans.

According to People, Saget was last seen on the Ritz-Carlton’s hotel surveillance video exiting the elevator and walking to his room. According to authorities who viewed the tape, nothing in Saget’s demeanor indicated anything was amiss. He hung the “Do Not Disturb” sign on his door at 2:17 a.m., and the door stayed closed and locked until hotel security found him dead.

In an attempt to make sense of the scene, authorities, who found no blood or hair in the bathroom to indicate a nasty injury, now believe Saget must have blacked out and fallen backwards onto the marble floor.

“Police believe that a groggy Saget regained consciousness and stumbled into bed, where he again lost consciousness and died,” People reports. “His time of death was estimated to be around 4:00 am, approximately 12 hours before his body was found.”

Saget’s autopsy report also indicated that he was infected with COVID-19 at the time of his death.

In a May 2021 episode of his popular podcast, Saget openly discussed with his guest, Dr. Jon Lapook, that he was vaccinated in an attempt to “shed vaccine hesitancy.”

Now, fans wonder if the vaccine didn’t somehow play a role in his alleged loss of consciousness, especially given the recent disclosure by fellow comedian Heather MacDonald to Dr. Drew Pinksy that, following her jab, she collapsed on stage and fractured her skull. As AW reported, MacDonald won’t be going for a booster any time soon.

Comedian tells Dr. Drew she won’t get 4th shot after fainting on stage

While there are no official reports to indicate that the vaccine was tied to the fainting spells of either Saget or MacDonald, many are making the connection in their minds.

And it appears the latest explanation from Florida investigators is no more satisfying than the last.

As one Twitter user said, “In my opinion anyway, this gets weirder the more information gets released.”
