Protestors shut down University event about trans zealots squashing free speech; point proven

Young far-left extremists at Quebec’s McGill University reportedly successfully shut down an event Tuesday by acting like a bunch of maniacal, indecent goons.

The event inside McGill’s Faculty of Law building was set to feature a speech by McGill alumnus Robert Wintemute, a lawyer for the LGB Alliance, a gay, lesbian, and bisexual advocacy group that left-wing extremists say is “anti-trans.”

Wintemute was specifically there to talk about how the trans movement is infringing on and destroying women’s rights.

He was invited to speak there by McGill University’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP).

CHRLP described the event “as a conversation around whether the law should make it easier for a transgender person to change their legal sex, ‘and about exceptional situations, such as women-only spaces and sports, in which the individual’s birth sex should take priority over their gender identity, regardless of their legal sex,'” according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Now watch some of what happened at the event below:

Twitter user Malcolm Clark’s description of the event was not fictitious.

“The event … was cancelled partway through after protesters entered the venue and threw baking flour at Wintemute. They also unplugged a projector he used for the event, which was titled ‘Sex v. Gender (Identity) Debate In the United Kingdom and the Divorce of LGB from T,'” as reported by CTV News.

For a group of people who claim others are perpetuating violence against them, these extremists always seem to have a propensity for committing real acts of violence against their own ideological opponents.

The violent, disruptive “protest,” as some are calling it, was led by extremist Celeste Trianon.

“The LGB Alliance is a hate group founded in the United Kingdom with a specific intent of being transphobic. They really are, first and foremost, a transphobic hate group whose sole intent is to roll back trans rights under the guise of being ‘gay friendly,'” Trianon said to CTV News.

Wintemute staunchly disagrees.

“[H]e denied his group promotes hate and said that Canadian universities should be ‘shocked’ by Tuesday’s protest,” according to CTV News.

“It’s extremely anti-democratic to interfere with a seminar at a university just because you disagree with the opinions expressed,” he said.

Below is more footage from the event — this time shared by one of the extremists themselves:

Wintemute also “argued that concerns from the transgender community have dominated the debate over LGBT issues and it is averse to disagreements.”

“He says the group is against all forms of anti-trans violence and discrimination against transgender people. His group advocates on behalf of the ‘many women who are concerned about the presence of male-to-female persons in women-only spaces, which would include changing rooms, prisons, hospital wards, etc.’ and about ‘such persons in women’s sports,'” CTV News reported.

The group basically believes that biological men should not compete against biological women. A poll conducted two years ago on behalf of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute found that Canadians agree by a four-to-one margin.

“By wide margins, Canadians support traditional sex-based categories for competitive sport, and they believe that allowing transgender athletes who were born male but who identify as women to compete in women’s competitive events is ‘unfair,'” the institute reported.

Yet according to Trianon, who’s a so-called “transgender women,” every one who believes this is a bigot and transphobe.

FYI, Americans also oppose men competing against women:

Wintemute also said that, as someone with 37 years of experience defending gay rights, he’d never associate with a group that “promotes hate.”

“He said he came to McGill to promote the message that women have human rights too, but they feel intimidated by the trans rights movement,” according to the CBC.

“So I have to thank the protesters for giving me first-hand experience of that intimidation. Probably the majority of women in this country disagree with some of transgender demands but they refuse to say so because they will be seen as intolerant,” he reportedly said after the event.

Exactly. Left-wing extremists have consistently demonstrated that they get off on silencing their ideological opponents through intimidation and violence.

Indeed, the extremists who showed up to the “protest” Tuesday later took to Twitter to brag about shutting down the event:
