Public schools spent 70 million dollars on illegals last year in Miami-Dade ALONE!

A hidden cost of the open border crisis came to light courtesy of immigration enforcement efforts as school districts across the country scrambled to respond to shifts in enrollment and mass absences.

“HOLY CRAP. It’s THAT bad.”

For years, a priority of the right had been to restore academic standards in government-run schools, rooting out Marxist ideologies and rampant indoctrination. As much concern as there was about what was being taught, there now appears to be equal if not greater concern about who is being taught, as one estimate found “one-seventh of a major southern public school district” was in the country illegally.

Dubbed Operation Charlotte’s Web, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had made 81 arrests on Saturday alone as it cracked down on criminal illegal aliens in Charlotte, North Carolina. As of Monday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools had issued a statement reported by WSOC-TV that marked rampant absences throughout the district.

“Daily attendance is unofficial data until finalized and approved by the state. Unofficial attendance data from today indicates that approximately 20,935 students were absent from school today. This accounts for approximately 15% of students enrolled in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The number of students absent today varied across our 185 schools and across various student groups.”

Reacting to the figures, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller asserted, “So a conservative estimate is that one-seventh of a major southern public school district is here illegally.”

The situation proved far from isolated as The Associated Press reported that a decline in enrollments from the President Joe Biden’s administration to the present meant a loss of about $70 million in budget for one district in Southern Florida.

“In Miami-Dade County Public Schools, about 2,550 students have entered the district from another country so far this school year — down from nearly 14,000 last year, and more than 20,000 the year before that,” the AP detailed. “Collectively, the enrollment declines in Miami-Dade erased about $70 million from the district’s annual budget, forcing administrators to scramble to cover the unexpected shortfall.”

“$70 million on illegals in public schools per year in Miami-Dade alone,” an X account reacted with a screenshot from the story. “So much American money going down the drain.”

Similarly, Albertville City Schools Superintendent Bart Reeves, whose district is reportedly 60% Hispanic, said enrollment declines will cost him 12 teacher positions as he expressed, “That’s just not happening this year with the closure of the border.”

Chicago, Denver, Houston and a city outside Boston, Massachusetts, all similarly reported declines in enrollment, while another report estimated some 44,000 students across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex are in the country illegally.

Meanwhile, districts like Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools found themselves prioritizing the concerns of the illegal aliens rather than American citizens as a separate statement touted the possibility of shifting to remote instruction in response to immigration enforcement activities.

Responses across social media widely agreed about the extent of the crisis, “Whatever you think, it’s far worse than you imagine.”
