Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson put federal immigration agents “on notice” with an order that will allow investigations and prosecutions.
The Democrat signed an executive order targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, titled “ICE On Notice,” which “makes Chicago the first city to create infrastructure to investigate and refer federal agents for criminal prosecution,” according to a press release.
“Nobody is above the law. There is no such thing as ‘absolute immunity’ in America,” Johnson said in a statement.

“The lawlessness of Trump’s militarized immigration agents puts the lives and well-being of every Chicagoan in immediate danger, ” he added. “With today’s order, we are putting ICE on notice in our city. Chicago will not sit idly by while Trump floods federal agents into our communities and terrorizes our residents.”
The executive order directs members of the Chicago Police Department (CPD) to “investigate and document alleged illegal activity by federal immigration agents and refer evidence of felony violations to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the press release from the mayor’s office announced.
The order comes in response to what the Democrat’s office referred to as “federal immigration operations which have violated constitutionally protected rights, destabilized communities, and provoked life-threatening confrontations while remaining insulated from local or civilian oversight.”
CPD is given procedures to follow under the code, directing officers to document observed or reported apparent violations by federal agents, preserve body-worn camera footage, and attempt to identify and verify the federal supervisory officer on scene.
“CPD will share aggregated data on documented legal violations by federal immigration officers with the pubic,” the press release explained, claiming that reports indicate the federal government “is planning another immigration surge in Chicago and the surrounding area later this spring.”

“I applaud Mayor Brandon Johnson’s bold and principled leadership in building the infrastructure to hold ICE and CBP agents accountable for criminal misconduct,” District Attorney of Philadelphia, Larry Krasner, said in a statement. “He has stepped forward at a critical moment to defend his residents, protect local authority, and insist that federal power be exercised within the bounds of the law. Philadelphia stands in solidarity with Chicago and with Mayor Johnson as he leads cities nationwide in standing up to federal overreach.”
Social media users gave Johnson a quick civics lesson.
Mayor Sissypants doesn’t have any authority to go after Federal Authorities that are enforcing Federal Law. Local laws are subordinate to the Supremacy Clause

So you’ll document federal agents but not immigrants

A mayor whose goal is to punish officers of the law for doing their job instead of working with them to protect his constituents from criminals should be tried for treason!
