Sniper landed ‘one-in-a-million’ shot to take out would-be Trump assassin

The shot that killed Thomas Matthew Crooks was a “one-in-a-million” shot, according to a source who spoke this week with Fox News.

How so? Because the shot, taken by a Secret Service sniper, was obscured, meaning the sniper “could only see Crooks’ gun scope and the top of his eye and forehead because the lip of the roof was blocking the sniper’s view,” as reported Friday by Fox News.

A local tactical team also reportedly took a shot at Crooks, the 20-year-old who tried to kill former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally last week but missed.

This positive revelation comes as anger continues to mount over the Secret Service’s stunning incompetence. While it’s true the agency did kill Crooks, it did so after he’d already opened fire, injuring Trump and killing a rally attendee, Corey Comperatore.

According to Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, she learned in a briefing that the Secret Service knew about the threat Crooks posed even before Trump had taken the stage at the Pennsylvania rally last weekend.

“Blackburn said she learned in the briefing with lawmakers that the Secret Service became aware of a potential threat at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania an hour before the former president was shot,” according to Tennessee station WKRN.

“The agency reportedly identified the threat at 5:51 p.m. before former President Trump took the stage at 6:03 p.m., according to Blackburn,” the station reported Thursday.

The blame for this mishap has been directed at the director of the Secret Service.

“While the Secret Service agents who stopped the shooter and jumped to protect Trump are being praised, the agency’s director, Kimberly Cheatle, has been harshly criticized for her handling of the matter,” Fox News notes.

Blackburn and Senate Republican Committee chair John Barrasso were later seen chasing after and questioning Cheatle at the Republican National Convention.

“This was an assassination attempt,” Blackburn said to Cheatle in the clip above. “You owe the people answers. You owe President Trump answers.”

What makes things worse is that Cheatle refuses to resign, despite increasing calls for her to do so.

Asked by The Hill about her refusal, House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Wednesday that he’s currently reviewing all options, including potential impeachment.

“We’re looking at all those options right now, but the first thing is to stand up the task force to get down to the real facts,” he said. “And we’ll be doing that in earnest and announced that this morning, we’re working on it today.”

Members of the public have also been calling for her resignation.

Reports have emerged that Cheatle got the job at the Secret Service only after a push from her “close” friend, first lady Jill Biden.

Reports have also emerged that she’s obsessed with diversity, equity, and inclusion, also known as DEI.

“Critics have accused Cheatle of prioritizing ‘woke’ ideologies rooted in DEI instead of only focusing on hiring the best for the agency,” according to Fox News. “While at the Secret Service, Cheatle has stressed the importance of increasing diversity in the Secret Service.”
