Suspect in weekend anti-Jewish ‘terrorist’ attack was in the country illegally

The Egyptian national accused of carrying out Sunday’s “targeted terror attack” on members of a pro-Israel group in Boulder, Colorado, was in the country illegally, another criminal illegal alien imported during the Biden administration.

45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman showed up at a gathering of the “Run for Their Lives” group which raises awareness of the hostages taken by Hamas terrorists during the October 7, 2023 raid on Israeli civilian areas and proceeded to attack them with a homemade flamethrower and Molotov cocktails in a horrifying incident that federal officials are calling an act of terrorism.

The bare-chested Soliman reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” as he turned the makeshift weapon on members of the group of middle-aged and elderly Jewish community members, injuring at least eight people in the cowardly attack.

Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials confirmed to Fox News that the suspect had overstayed his visa after first entering the U.S. in 2022 and had later been granted work authorization status, which expired in March.

“Three senior DHS sources tell @FoxNews that the Boulder terror suspect is an Egyptian national in the U.S. illegally as a visa overstay who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration. I’m told Mohamed Sabry Soliman arrived at LAX on 8/27/22 on a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa with an authorized stay through 2/26/23, but he overstayed & never left,” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported.

“I’m told on 9/29/22, he filed some sort of claim with USCIS, potentially an asylum claim, and on 3/29/23, USCIS under the Biden admin gave him work authorization, which expired on 3/28/25,” he added.

“A terror attack was committed in Boulder, Colorado by an illegal alien,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said in a Sunday post to X. “He was granted a tourist visa by the Biden Administration, and then he illegally overstayed that visa. In response, the Biden Administration gave him a work permit. Suicidal migration must be fully reversed.”

“Immigration security is national security,” Miller said in another post. “No more hostile migration. Keep them out and send them back.”

“We are investigating this incident as an act of terror and targeted violence. All of the necessary assets will be dedicated to this investigation,” FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said on Sunday.

One of the victims is a Holocaust survivor, according to Denver-based KUSA.

“She is an amazing person. Not because she is hurt. She always is an amazing person,” Chany Scheiner told the outlet of the woman whom she described as a friend.

“She speaks — she has spoken at our synagogues as well as other synagogues and schools just about her background and the Holocaust and from her own perspective. She is passionate about standing up for good things and she is an extremely exceptional person. Always a smile on her face. Her life wasn’t easy, but she is just a bright light. And anybody who is her friend is a friend for life,” Scheiner said.

The attack comes after another pro-Hamas “terrorist” gunned down two Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C. last month. He also reportedly yelled “Free Palestine” as justification for his murderous act.

The official X account for the State of Israel noted that both attacks are the result of anti-Israel incitement and the spreading of Hamas’ lies.

“When Hamas’s lies are being spread, Jews are being attacked. We are shocked by the terrible antisemitic terror attack in Boulder, Colorado—targeting Jews who wished to express their solidarity with the hostages held by Hamas. We pray for those who were wounded in the attack,” the post read.

“This attack, like the murder of the two staff members of the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., and the attacks on synagogues in France, is the direct result of incitement against Israel. Lies against Israel transform into fire against Jews. This must be stopped,” the Israeli government wrote.

“We will not tolerate this hatred and we will put the perpetrator of this violence behind bars,” Attorney General Pam Bondi vowed.

The suspect was booked into the Boulder County Jail on Sunday.
