‘The price is white’: Zohran Mamdani looks to shift tax burden to ‘richer, whiter neighborhoods’

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon is very interested in one NYC mayoral hopeful’s plan to “shift the tax burden” in the city.

Zohran Mamdani is every bit the anti-white, anti-capitalist mouthpiece that the fringe left loves to adore. One specific aspect of his platform is coming under heavy fire for threatening to raise taxes on wealthy, white neighborhoods while lowering them for everyone else.

It’s so bad that even the New York Post editorial board wrote a piece ripping it to shreds.

The devil’s in the details — and so is the racism.

Zohran Mamdani shows New York where his priorities really are in his position papers, where he promises to “fix” the city’s property tax system.

His solution: Punish whitey!

He’d “shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods,” his campaign platform says.

How will he do this?

Well, once elected, he would “push . . . assessment percentages down for everyone,” which, like most of what Mamdani proposes, is highly unlikely.

But never mind that!

Next, King Mamdani would “adjust rates up” — based on the racial makeup of a neighborhood.

Not only is this a wholly offensive idea that is sure to fuel the mass exodus of taxpayers that New York has seen in recent years, but it may also be illegal.

“Racial discrimination is illegal in the United States – period. Full stop! The illegal discriminatory scheme described by Mamdani would violate federal constitutional and statutory norms, and might even violate New York law,” Dhillon stated.
