Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump held his first tally since nearly being assassinated last weekend and may have come up with his most iconic line yet.
The former president was joined by his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) for a rally in the critical battleground state of Michigan where he had a counterargument for Joe Biden and his Democrats and their false narrative that he’s an enemy of democracy.
“They keep saying he’s a threat to democracy. I’m saying, ‘’What the hell did I do to democracy?’ Last week I took a bullet for democracy,” Trump told a cheering crowd in Grand Rapids on Saturday. “What did I do against democracy? Crazy.”

A full house crowd of over 12,000 adoring supporters packed the Van Andel Arena for the rally which comes two days after Trump accepted his party’s nomination at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, WI.
The ridiculous claim that Trump is a threat to democracy has been the foundation of Biden’s argument for reelection and a constantly repeated talking point of the bad faith actors of his party and their surrogates ever since the fake “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, and he shot it down with a quote that will likely be the most memorable of his campaign.
Judging by the reaction from X users, it’s a winner.
Line for the ages.
Sure to confuse and enrage the Dem veterans with TDS.

This was the best line I’ve heard from a politician in my lifetime.
“I took a bullet for Democracy.”

Trump opened the speech by saying he “shouldn’t be here right now, but something very, something very special happened,” referring to the near miss of the sniper’s bullet, before he recognized the victims who were struck by gunfire at the Butler, PA rally.
“We continue to pray for the recovery of the two citizens who were wounded in that evil attack – David Dutch and James Copenhaver, two really incredible people,” he said. “We remain in contact and send our deepest respect to the families.”
“Corey Comparatore was a brave firefighter who died, [his] funeral [was] yesterday,” he said. “Corey was a hero. And we will carry his memory in our hearts for all time,” Fox News reported.
Trump also defended the media when the crowd booed, saying that they covered the assassination attempt fairly.
“They had cameras blazing,” he said, according to the left-leaning outlet Mediaite. “I guess it was different in that way too, because we were right in the middle — all those. See, look at all the news back there. And they were all blazing, they were, they were going.”
“No, no. No they covered it fairly. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing either, so they did. You did cover it fairly,” Trump said.
