On Tuesday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to change the name of artificial intelligence.
Following a meeting with leading tech executives like ex-WH Crypto and AI Czar David Sacks, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Trump officially signed an executive order designating the technology as Super Intelligence (SI), which will be used by all federal agencies in their “official correspondence, public communications, websites, reports, policy documents and other non-statutory materials,” Fox Business reported.
This also means that the use of artificial intelligence and AI will not be officially recognized, and the assistant to the president for science and technology will have to create a “federal definition of SI and recommend any additional executive actions needed to implement the new terminology.”
The president insists that the term more closely reflects the power and capability of the technology.
“The term ‘Super Intelligence’ more appropriately captures the promise, potential, and rapidly advancing capabilities of these technologies,” he wrote.
Zuckerberg and Sacks boasted about the “significant positive step” being taken to ensure that the development of this Super Intelligence is safe.

“Only President Trump could convene all the leaders of the top companies developing chips, data centers and frontier models for Super Intelligence. This new Industrial Revolution has already created a million new jobs and is spurring a bigger infrastructure build-out than the railroads, canals and grid combined,” Sacks wrote on X. “I was honored to witness history as the leaders of the frontier lab companies signed the White House Accord on Super Intelligence, accepting responsibility for the safe development of their products and imposing new internal controls and external audits. This is far better than waiting years for some international agreement that would probably never happen. President Trump continues to ensure that U.S. remains the technology leader while putting Americans first.”
