Trump throws shade on Fox News star Jacqui Heinrich, then doubles down for good measure

President Donald Trump obliterated Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich on Tuesday for complaining about his recent Tesla infomercial, hitting her with the worst insult possible.

“I watched Jacqui Heinrich from Fox over the weekend and I thought she was absolutely terrible. She should be working for CNN, not Fox,” he wrote on Truth Social. “Not surprisingly, I later found out that she’s a fan of the White House Correspondents Association!”

Ouch!

The insult came after Heinrich grilled Sen. Bernie Moreno on Sunday over Trump’s Tesla infomercial.

“There was basically a display at the White House there,” she said to Moreno. “He surveyed some cars. It was happening as, you know, [while] Americans’ 401(k) accounts were facing some struggles because of this tariff war happening right now.”

“Was that an appropriate thing for the president to do there? Was it sensitive to the moment that we are in buying a car, using the White House as a backdrop for that?” she then asked.

As previously reported, early last week Trump had some Tesla cars brought to the White House so that he could choose one to buy to show support for Tesla boss Elon Musk, who’s also the unofficial boss of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“Number one, it is a great product- as good as it gets,” Trump said during the infomercial, describing his reasons for making the purchase. “And number two, because this man [Musk] has devoted his energy and his life to doing this.”

“I think he’s been treated very unfairly by a very small group of people. And I just want people to know that you can’t be penalized for being a patriot. And he’s a great patriot,” he added.

Regarding Heinrich, Trump may have also been upset over the pointed questions she asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during Wednesday’s daily briefing. The questions pertained to the federal judge who last week tried to block the administration from deporting illegal alien Tren de Aragua gang members under the Alien Enemies Act.

“Notably, Heinrich brought up Fox News’ own legal analyst Andy McCarthy — whom Trump approvingly cited multiple times during his New York hush money trial — stating recently that he’s ‘not sure that the law is completely on his side’ even though he personally agrees with what the president is doing with the deportations,” The Independent notes.

“McCarthy raised concern also that while [Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua] has been designated as a terrorist organization, these individuals hadn’t been prosecuted for terrorism,” Heinrich said. “So my question is: Will the president ask Congress potentially to declare war on these cartels for the invasion that he’s talked about so that he’s on stronger legal footing?”

“We absolutely disagree with the legal opinion of the individual that you mentioned,” Leavitt replied. “Anybody trying to defend these terrorists who have now been sent off of American soil should talk to the families of the individuals who these heinous monsters have killed and have raped.”

Heinrich does have a defender– her fellow Fox News colleague Brit Hume.

“I watched her too. She plays it straight, covering both sides of a story and has certainly played fair with you,” he tweeted late Wednesday. “You may have a case against some White House reporters, but not @JacquiHeinrich.”

However, Hume’s defense of Heinrich prompted a notable amount of pushback from critics.
