Trump vows to release JFK docs, form commission on assassination attempts after RFK Jr. endorsement

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s debut on the campaign trail with former President Donald Trump included a notable promise regarding assassination attempts.

Days of speculation culminated in pyrotechnic fanfare for the former Democrat who joined the GOP leader on stage in Glendale, Arizona on Friday to unite on defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. Mere hours after suspending his campaign with a bridge-burning denunciation of the public-private partnerships between leftists, neo-cons, and a litany of Big industries, the environmental attorney was rewarded with a vow from Trump to fully pull back the curtain on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

After chants of “Bobby! Bobby!” the president harkened back to the July 13 assassination attempt on his own life in Butler, Pennsylvania as he said, “Soon after I was — I can’t believe I have to say this — nearly assassinated in Pennsylvania last month, Bobby called me to express his best wishes.”

“He knows firsthand the risks incurred by leaders who stand up to the corrupt political establishment. When you stand up, you bring on some trouble for yourself. But you have to do what’s right. You have to do what’s right for the country. I will tell you we are both in this to do what is right for the country. That’s one thing I can tell you,” said Trump as the crowd cheered.

It was then that the GOP leader offered his promise for action on the 1963 Kennedy assassination as he explained, “He lost his father and uncle in service to our country and Bobby himself was subject to repeated threats to his safety during the course of his campaign while being denied protection by the Harris-Biden administration. And this is a tribute, in honor of Bobby, I am announcing tonight that upon my election, I will establish a new independent presidential commission on assassination attempts. And they will be tasked with releasing all of the remaining documents pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.”

“And they will also conduct a rigorous review of the attack last month — but, I tell you, I have never had more people ask me, ‘Please, sir, release the documents on the Kennedy assassination.’ And we’re gonna do that,” said Trump.

During his administration, the GOP leader had overseen the release of tens of thousands of documents via the 1992 John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act that set an Oct. 2017 deadline for all files to be released.

The release of troves of documents had still been postponed following urging from the intelligence community and President Joe Biden’s administration had overseen over 16,000 additional documents released by June 2023, claiming that over 99% of the records had become publicly available.

As Trump had noted, a U.S. Secret Service detail was denied at length for Kennedy despite threats to his safety until after the attempt had been made on the GOP leader’s life. Since then, a number of officials from the Secret Service have been placed on administrative leave as the public still seeks answers and accountability.

The former president would also go on to promise an investigation into the chronic disease epidemic, “repeating my pledge to establish a panel of top experts, working with Bobby, to investigate what is causing the decades-long increase in chronic health problems and childhood diseases, including auto-immune disorders, autism, obesity, infertility, and more.”

The left had already signaled how significantly Kennedy had upset the apple cart as his family released a statement asserting Kennedy’s endorsement was a “betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear.”

Meanwhile, Trump supporters embraced the chance at unity as Kennedy marched out to raucous applause while the Foo Fighters “My Hero” played.
