Two LGBTQ Florida college students accept one way tickets to Iran because they hate the US so much

A pair of Florida college students who refused to condemn the Iranian regime wildly accepted a one-way ticket to the country and to take a “little trip around the Middle East.”

In a head-scratching response to a street poll about the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, the University of South Florida students told Kaitlin Bennett it was safer for women to live in Iran than in the United States.

Bennett, the conservative activist on the Liberty Hangout YouTube channel, tried to give the pair – one an aspiring nurse and the other an LGBTQ man – a reality check. When that failed, she offered to send them to Iran to experience what real oppression is like.

Given the facts about the Islamic laws that have ruled Iranians, the woman repeatedly proved she knew little about the realities there and would not condemn the regime.

“Okay. Well, let me ask you this. Where do you think would be better for women? Iran or America?” Bennett asked.

“I don’t think America is quite good for women, when we look at how we handled the Epstein files,” she responded.

“So, you can’t determine between America and Iran which is safer for women?” Bennett pressed, setting off a back-and-forth that had the student offering explanations such as, “I think that people have misconceptions about religion, especially with Muslims and Islamic regions.”

When pressed about the atrocities committed by the now-deceased Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, she declared, “We have a dictator in our own country,”  referring to President Donald Trump.

“So, which dictator would be better? I’ll go with your terms. Trump or the Ayatollah in Iran?” Bennett questioned, getting more confusing answers from the student.

“I think it’s disturbing, and it’s very sad, that you won’t condemn or even say ‘Iran is not safe for women’. It’s not even safe for dogs. It’s not safe for gay people, or anyone,” Bennett said. “You’re gonna walk around and try to tell me that [America] is a worse place to be, as a woman, than Iran?”

“Would you like to be a primary source? We can go to Iran, and we could, like, hold hands,” the nursing student quipped.

“I wouldn’t even hold hands with you in America,” Bennett shot back.

“You have the freedom to do whatever. You have the freedom to follow whatever religion you want, including none at all. And you’re going to walk around and try to tell me that this is a worse place to be as a woman than Iran?” she asked, incredulous at the responses.

Bennett finally challenged the students with an offer they heartily accepted.

“We will buy you a ticket, a one-way ticket to Iran,” she said.

A GiveSendGo fundraiser was set up for the pair and, as of this writing, has raised nearly $2,500, with the proceeds donated to Options For Women Pregnancy Help Clinic if the students “fail to provide me with their accurate flyer information, fail to meet all legal requirements to fly internationally, or it is impossible to book due to the ongoing conflict.”

“Please consider supporting this cause to free these students from their oppression,” the website states.
