Under pressure: Frazzled KJP snaps after impeachment questions get on her nerves

Karine Jean-Pierre’s job as White House press secretary just got a little harder as Republicans push forward with an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden

As reporters tried to get information regarding the Republican-led impeachment inquiry into the president, KJP became less and less enthusiastic about answering their questions. Eventually, she ended up snapping after being pressed a little too hard.

“You just mentioned House Republican’s ‘baseless claims’, how confident are you that there will be no evidence that incriminates Joe Biden in Hunter’s business dealings as this goes forward?” Jean-Pierre was asked.

“Any specifics to the inquiry, certainly — I want to say this at the top … I’m going to refer you to my colleagues at the counsel’s office,” the press secretary began her response, likely hoping to head off any additional questions and keep the pressure off herself.

“I just talked about Bidenomics, I just talked about what the president’s going to do tomorrow, really deliver a major speech, something that the American people want to hear about,” she continued, pushing the talking point that Americans really don’t care about whether the president allowed his son to peddle influence under his watch.

She went on to claim that the Republicans have spent the year investigating the Bidens and have come up with no evidence of wrongdoing.

“They have spent all year investigating the president. That’s what they’ve spent all year doing and have turned up with no evidence, none, that he did anything wrong. I mean, that is what we’ve heard over and over again from their almost year-long investigation. And that’s because the president didn’t do anything wrong,” she added.

When New York Post reporter Steve Nelson tried to push back on her claims, KJP shut him down by snapping at him and calling his attempt to clarify her statement “inappropriate.”

“Even House Republicans have said the evidence does not exist. House Republicans have said that to my friend in the back who just yelled out, which is incredibly inappropriate,” she said, visibly frustrated.

“But House Republicans have said that there doesn’t — there doesn’t — it doesn’t exist,” she added. “Their own investigations have actually debunked their ridiculous attacks. And the only reason Speaker [Kevin] McCarthy is doing this — is doing this political stunt — and we have seen it, you all have reported, is because Marjorie Taylor Greene has said — she threatened to shut down the government.”
