Nearly 150 adult Senegalese migrants are among the thousands of border crossers in Arizona’s Tuscon Sector who are being released into the interior of the United States by the Biden administration after the region saw more than 2,000 illegal crossings in just 24-hours this week.

“Per Border Patrol sources, street releases of migrants who crossed illegally are beginning today in the Tucson, AZ sector due to CBP facilities being overcapacity. The Tucson sector alone saw over 2,000 illegal crossings yesterday in a 24 hour span. Mass releases underway,” reported Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin on X.
“We have a cameraman in the sector right now,” he continued, “where large numbers of single adult men from Africa have been crossing illegally, including many from Senegal. People from all over the world arrive in the Tucson sector.”

According to Fox News Digital, many of the migrants in the Tucson Sector of Cochise County are being released with nothing more than “a Notice to Appear (NTA) in court.”
“Tucson has become one of the most popular sectors for migrant traffic as agents face a broader surge border-wide,” the outlet reports. “Sources told Fox that agents apprehended over 7,400 illegal immigrants at the border on Tuesday. When combined with encounters at ports of entry, that number hit 9,100.”
“The migrants being released are from outside Cochise County but were bussed to Cochise County, processed and then released,” Sheriff Mark Dannels said in a statement on Facebook. “Cochise County is a rural county with limited resources leaving these migrants vulnerable. In short, this lack of humanitarian consideration poses risk for the migrants.”
“I applaud the local CBP agents and their leadership for doing all they legally can during this on-going crisis,” Dannels continued, “and I repeat my statement, ‘The intellectual avoidance and abandonment with intended consequences’ by those leaders in Washington DC reference our southern border continues to be a slippery slope for those doing everything we can to protect our quality of life here in Cochise County!”
According to the sheriff’s office, “Today’s announcement that CBP will begin migrant street releases into Cochise County is just another reflection of the fracture within the DHS infrastructure regarding the security of our southern border. These releases are a direct result of over-capacity by CBP which is forcing these migrant releases into our communities.”
Fox News Digital reports, “CBP released 5,000 migrants with a notice to appear on Tuesday and has around 21,000 people in custody.”
Meanwhile, people on X are wondering how all these African migrants are getting to the U.S. border to begin with.
“How do poor Africans make it all the way here without money????” one user asked. “NO ONE is answering this… EVERYONE blatantly ignores it.”
