VP under fire: MAGA comes for JD Vance after he calls for trust in Trump

Escalating involvement in Israel’s operation against Iran found the vice president’s calls for “trust on this issue” for President Donald Trump missing the mark for many MAGA proponents.

Utilizing X as the go-to public forum, factions formed to dispute the course ahead in the Middle East, with Mark Levin and Tucker Carlson engaged in perhaps the most prominent argument on the matter. Tuesday, ahead of Trump’s call for “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” in Iran, Vice President J.D. Vance attempted to ensure the “American people’s goals” remained the focus of the White House with mixed success.

Regarding potential actions from Trump that could result in “foreign entanglement after the last 25 years of idiotic foreign policy,” the vice president asserted, “But I believe the president has earned some trust on this issue. And having seen this up close and personal, I can assure you that he is only interested in using the American military to accomplish the American people’s goals. Whatever he does, that is his focus.”

The lengthy post began with Vance stating, “Look, I’m seeing this from the inside, and am admittedly biased towards our president (and my friend), but there’s a lot of crazy stuff on social media, so I wanted to address some things directly on the Iran issue.”

Detailing how President Donald Trump “has been amazingly consistent” for a decade on opposition to Iran having a nuclear weapon, the vice president referred to guidance to seek a deal with the Islamist regime that held fast to “non-proliferation obligations by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is hardly a rightwing organization.”

“It’s one thing to want civilian nuclear energy. It’s another thing to demand sophisticated enrichment capacity,” he added. “And it’s still another to cling to enrichment while simultaneously violating basic non-proliferation obligations and enriching right to the point of weapon-grade uranium.”

Noting the lack of good arguments for Iran’s actions amid the IAEA’s findings, Vance went on, “Meanwhile, the president has shown remarkable restraint in keeping our military’s focus on protecting our troops and protecting our citizens.”

Trump had his own response to Tucker Carlson and others questioning actions deemed “an anathema to the ‘America First’ way of doing things,” asserting, “Well, considering that I’m the one that developed ‘America First,’ and considering that the term wasn’t used until I came along, I think I’m the one that decides that.”

He also took to Truth Social to state Monday, “AMERICA FIRST means many GREAT things, including the fact that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R), an ardent supporter of the president, took a different tack in arguing against American intervention in the Middle East.

Speaking with former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) on One America News Network Monday, the congresswoman said, “We’ve watched for decades propaganda news. I’ll call out Fox News and the New York Post. They’re known to be the neocon network news.”

“We have propaganda news on our side just like the left does, and the American people have been brainwashed into believing that America has to engage in these foreign wars in order for us to survive, and it’s absolutely not true,” she continued as others chimed in on social media wanting a concrete answer as to how every day Americans benefit contrasted with those remaining supportive of Trump’s leadership.
