Time and again, Democrats have pointed the blame across the aisle for the actions and behaviors that they themselves are guilty of and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) offered one such lazy deflection Saturday as she accused Republicans of “political gamesmanship” after they accused the left of disregarding COVID protocols before voting on the Inflation Reduction Act.
The Senate had to rely on Vice President Kamala Harris to break the tie for the procedural vote to advance the so called Inflation Reduction Act to the debate and amendment process on strict party lines. After single-handedly obstructing the “Build Back Better” agenda, Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) approval of the now-stripped down legislation was known to require the presence of all Democrats if all Republicans made it to the vote.
Therefore, caution was reportedly thrown to the wind.
However, the mere suggestion that Democrats may have adopted a “Don’t Test, Don’t Tell” policy going into Saturday was dismissed as nonsense by Warren who Fox News reported, when confronted, said, “No. And oh, please.”
“The Republicans are concerned about Democrats showing up with COVID,” she went on twisting the argument to make the GOP seem like hypocrites to hide her parties own alleged hypocrisy, “the Republicans wouldn’t wear masks. The Republicans who wouldn’t test, the Republicans who tested positive and still showed up. I’m telling you, they just know no limits on their political gamesmanship.”
As previously reported by Puck News, “Senate Democrats, some of whom have decried their G.O.P colleagues’ lenient attitude toward masking, have adopted an unofficial ‘Don’t Test, Don’t Tell,’ protocol of late, particularly as they endeavor to pass the historic Inflation Reduction Act this weekend.”

A senior Senate aide had told the outlet, “They’re not going to delay it if a member has gotten COVID. Counterparts are saying they’re not going to test anymore. It’s not an official mandate but we all know we’re not letting COVID get in the way. The deal is happening. Less testing, just wear masks and get it done.”
“We’re not talking about a plan B,” Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had said. “We’re going to stay healthy.”
Much like the absurdity early in the pandemic where Democrats had promoted the protests and riots throughout the summer of 2020 because they deemed social justice causes as paramount, (i.e., they didn’t want to discourage their voting bloc heading into a crucial presidential election), the reality of the Alinskyite tactics employed is that the ends always justify the means.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) who has stood as a staunch opponent to draconian COVID policies suggested that there was no greater signal that the time to move on had finally come as he posted, “On the same day [President Joe] Biden tests positive for COVID he says he’s coming to Kentucky, while Senate democrats admit they’re not testing themselves for COVID, because they will come to work even if they’re COVID positive. End the emergency declaration, the PREP Act, and all mandates!”
