Enduring silence from the vice president on one core attribute begged the question, “What kind of Christian is she?”

Much like President Joe Biden’s self-styled Catholicism, Vice President Kamala Harris has frequently framed herself as faith-adjacent with nary a testament to her actual Christian beliefs. Such was the determination of Newsmax host Tom Basile who appeared to challenge whether the presidential candidate had a belief system that extended beyond self-interest.
“Talking about going to church as a child and quoting Second Corinthians a couple of times isn’t necessarily evidence that you’re a Christian or a believer in biblical values,” he said during a monologue on “America Right Now” after indicating that her meetings with faith leaders focused on issues like abortion and immigration.
“Her mother was Hindu. Her estranged father has been tied to Marxism — an atheistic ideology,” the host said of the man who’d been raised in the Anglican Church. “Her stepdaughter is a pro-Palestinian left-wing activist. Miss Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, have nailed a mezuzah to the front door post at the Naval Observatory, and they’ve hosted a Passover Seder. But that doesn’t mean that her own faith is tethered to biblical values in any real sense.”
“Perhaps no political figure on a national ticket in recent memory has so assiduously avoided mentioning in public, statements about the Bible or biblical values, or even Almighty God as Miss Harris,” contended Basile, himself a Roman Catholic. “There is therefore plenty of reason to wonder whether the vice president is committed to the religious and biblical underpinnings of the country. And if she is a Christian, well, then what kind of Christian is she?”
While making clear that her particular religion was immaterial, the host stated, “Faith informs our decision-making and how we approach living. It should not be an enigma wrapped in a riddle, as it appears to be with Miss Harris.”
To that end, as recently as late July, Harris’ devotion to the murder of unborn children alongside her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, had her campaign suggesting where her faith is placed.
“Our people-powered campaign is a fight for the future. A fight for reproductive freedom where women make decisions about their bodies–not the government. Let us continue this fight with optimism, faith, and hope. When we fight, we win.” [emphasis added]

Basile went on to point out Harris’ connection to Reverend Amos Brown who’d once blamed the United States for 9/11 in what “was supposed to be a memorial service.”
“Miss Harris claims to have been a member of the Third Baptist Church in San Francisco for many years, though it’s unclear the last time she attended services there, or at any church for that matter, not related to a political event or a funeral,” he explained. “More troubling is the fact that Third Baptist is led by the Reverend Amos Brown, who Miss Harris has called ‘a voice of leadership’ and said that she ‘is proud to have him as her pastor.'”
“Well, here’s the problem for Miss Harris. Reverend Brown is perhaps even more radical that the Obamas’ Reverend Jeremiah Wright,” stated the host as the reverend had said Harris remains a “dues-paying member” and had visited the White House at least twice during the administration.
“For two decades now, at least, I have turned to you,” the vice president said of Brown at the 2022 National Baptist Convention. “I have turned to him. And I will say that your wisdom has really guided me and grounded me during some of the most difficult times. And — and you have been a source of inspiration to me always.”
As part of his conclusion, Basile called out, “The left has been attempting to redefine culture…and strip away biblical truth, and all faith actually, in favor of some form of empty secular humanism. Marxism, after all, is about deconstructionism. That is very present in our society today. And right now, the evidence suggests that Kamala Harris could be a wrecking ball.”
