The Biden administration has flagrantly dismissed concerns about illegal aliens being secretly released into communities across the states every single day via both bus and plane.

In statements made to Fox News, an unnamed White House official took issue with New York gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino’s complaint that illegals are being flown into his community in “secret midnight flights.”

As previously reported, earlier in the week Astorino published what appeared to be undercover footage of a government contractor bemoaning the “down-low,” secret flights and saying that the government “is betraying the American people.”

Speaking with Fox News on Friday, the unnamed White House official acknowledged the flights but claimed they weren’t secret.

“There are no such things as secret flights. The video footage your network has been running endlessly is from six months ago in August. Which by the way, Jen [Psaki] and others in the administration addressed this then too. Not new or news,” the official said.

In a way, the official was right. The New York Post first exposed the flights in October. And White House press secretary Jen Psaki did indeed briefly speak on the matter at the time.

Psaki claimed that the flights were “early [morning] flights,” not “night” flights, and then defended the flights on the basis that the administration has “legal responsibility to safely care for unaccompanied children until they … can be swiftly unified with a parent or a vetted sponsor.”

The official who spoke with Fox News echoed some of these same talking points.

“The footage is of unaccompanied minors being transported either to a vetted relative or [to] a sponsor, and yes they passed through Westchester County, New York, en route to their final destination,” the official said.

The official added that the administration has a “legal responsibility to safely care for unaccompanied children until they can be swiftly unified with a parent or a vetted sponsor.”

However, the issue doesn’t appear to be that there haven’t been reports on the national level about these flights. The issue seems to be rather that the administration isn’t telling specific communities about the illegal aliens being imported into their neighborhoods.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican who staunchly opposes illegal immigration, explained this phenomenon during a news briefing in November.

“Here’s what happens with these flights: There’s no notification to the state of Florida, these are done mostly in the middle of the night and it’s clandestine,” he said.

Moreover, the video footage released by Astorino didn’t appear to show a single child. If anything, it looked as is grown men and women were exiting the plane.

Incidentally, the same phenomenon can be observed in another set of videos published this week by Fox News journalist Bill Melugin showing mainly adult males being bused into Brownsville, Texas.

The White House official who spoke with Fox News had an excuse for this as well.

“Migrants who cannot be expelled under Title 42 are placed into immigration proceedings, and one of those avenues could be placement in an alternative-to-detention (ATD) program in the interior of the United States, where they wait for next steps in the immigration process, such as a court hearing, and are required to check in with a local ICE office,” the official said.

But these illegal aliens could have been placed into the Remain in Mexico program that the Biden administration was reluctantly forced to reinstitute thanks to a federal court order. According to Fox News, however, the administration has barely used the program since its restart in December.

“The administration has said it intends to abolish the program by a different route, but will comply with the court order in good faith. … However, the new numbers from DHS show that there were 267 migrants enrolled in the program in December, with no migrants from Northern Triangle countries,” according to Fox News.

The numbers should have been significantly higher given all the illegals streaming across the border on any given day …
