‘You can’t take our children!’: VA’s Winsome Sears condemns left’s Borg-like ‘indoctrination’ of children

Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears issued a stark warning to the Borg-like left who are using the public school system for the “indoctrination” of school kids: “You can’t take our children.”

The comments come ahead of the Supreme Court’s much-anticipated decision in Carson v. Makin, a case which, explained The Washington Post, “was brought to expand voucher policies that provide public money for private and religious education.”

Centering around a Maine program that allows state money to be used to pay for private school tuition if no public school exists in the area — so long as the private school isn’t a religious school.

Those favoring the expansion of state funds to include religious schools argue that the Maine program violates the Constitution by discriminating against those who practice their faith, while those in support of Maine’s policy claim that the private church-based schools “legally discriminate against people who don’t support their religious beliefs,” The Post writes.

For Sears, the decision is simple, especially given the left’s relentless attempts to push their agendas in the classroom.

“The money must follow the child and not the brick building,” Sears told “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

“Children belong to us,” she stated firmly.

“I gave a speech last night where I talked about one of my favorite programs, The Borg, and The Borg says you will assimilate. Your existence as you know it is over, and resistance is futile.”

“They’re talking about our children!” she said. “And we’re not having it. You can’t take our children. Our children belong to us. We are their first teachers, and we need the tax money that you give us — that we give you to give back to us so that we can decide what schools our children should attend.”

“The freedom for conservative parents to choose private schools that align with their values means,” says Sears, “children won’t be listening to progressive “nonsense” and won’t be waving “ridiculous” signs at future protests, such as the ones being held in front of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home in response to another, even more anticipated SCOTUS decision which will likely overturn Roe v. Wade.”

“The tax money,” says Sears, is so children “don’t have to listen to this kind of nonsense so they don’t appear on the streets doing this kind of ridiculous stuff where they need a good education so that they can have a hope and a future.”

“That’s what this is about,” she stated.

It isn’t the first time Sears has reminded the left that “children belong to parents.”

On another Fox & Friends appearance in April, Sears predicted that Democrats will face a dismal midterm election if they don’t get that through their heads.

“If they continue on the same course, they’re going to lose in November, so they better start listening to parents because… children do belong to the parents, not the state,” she said.

“Ultimately, parents want to ensure that their children are learning,” she continued. “That’s the whole thing. Are they learning? If they’re not, something needs to be done.”
