Donald Trump pulled off the improbable Tuesday evening, becoming only the second person in United States history to win non-consecutive terms as president, joining Grover Cleveland, who did two terms in the White House from 1885-1889 and 1893-1897.
And while the pro-Kamala propaganda outlet Associated Press waited until Wednesday morning to call Wisconsin for Trump, which gave him 277 electoral votes, congratulations poured in overnight after Fox News called the race in the former president’s favor — just as liberal tears were also pouring, especially over at MSNBC.
“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president,” Trump told a pumped crowd of supporters early Wednesday at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in Florida, noting that he also won the popular vote while adding, “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate.”
Congratulations were not limited to the domestic front, as world leaders eager for positive reverberations throughout the global economy offered their best wishes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was quick to offer congratulations, referencing a September meeting with Trump in a post on X where they discussed “the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach in global affairs,” Zelenskyy wrote. “This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together. We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States.”
Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his impressive election victory!
