The FBI has released new footage of a suspect believed to have planted pipe bombs near the DNC and RNC offices in D.C. on Jan. 5th, 2021.
“The FBI is still offering a $500,000 reward for information that helps identify the person who placed pipe bombs at the offices of the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee on January 5, 2021,” the FBI stated on X, along with the footage.
“As part of our ongoing investigation, we’re releasing an updated video of the subject, which includes previously unreleased footage, higher quality video, and longer clips of the subject’s movements.”

The FBI described the suspect as 5’7” tall, wearing a grey hoodie, black gloves, and Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes at the time.
X users weighed in on the video, with many saying the suspect’s mannerisms appear feminine.
Mannerisms appear both feminine and meek (standing on tip toes, the walk, the way the bag is put down and lifted, the way glasses were put on)

I’m one of those people who, for years, loved sitting on benches in nice weather just to watch the world go by. This person’s gait, steps, mannerisms, and the act of sitting, then standing strongly suggests to me that this is a female. ♀️

This is 100% a female.
The mannerisms, and the gate of the suspect is that of a woman.— TexiMerican (@sspurgeon99) October 22, 2025
You’re looking for a female in her 30s, about 5’8”.
Power walking, short gait, close thighs, and a lot of arm movement. Oversized clothes to conceal figure. And holding the bag off to the side, like it’s going to protect her if it prematurely detonates.— King Cyrus is here (@HelenHur122503) October 23, 2025
Seems like it was a female. The relatively rare shoes that look intentionally oversized in order to misdirect, add in the circular route, a phone(s) that cannot be traced, suggest a handler and trade craft, which points to an inside job.

There was also a healthy dose of criticism against the FBI from those who feel they’re sitting on answers:
Isn’t the “bomber” shown using a phone? The FBI found hundreds of mostly innocent people in and around the capital J6 thru geofencing, but this guy can’t be found. Come on now!
— Stan Goudeau (@Austinescapee) October 23, 2025
So weird the FBI can track down hundreds of people with masks on and covered from head to toe in the capital on Jan 6th but not this terrorist!

Perhaps the investigation is just really getting started? Stay tuned to find out.
