Paul Pelosi involved in another crash, drawing 6 mos suspension of driving privileges

Notorious vehicular menace Paul Pelosi was involved in another car crash, this time drawing a suspension of driving privileges that will keep him off the road for six months.

Mr. Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge involving a July 3 accident in which he plowed into a car that was legally parked on the side of the road while driving in Napa County, the heart of California wine country.

The stock-picking wizard and victim of a bizarre 2022 assault from a hammer-wielding lunatic in the couple’s San Francisco mansion was cruising along in a Maserati convertible when he reportedly plowed into the parked Tesla in Yountville, California.

The vehicle was unoccupied at the time that Pelosi hit it.

On Tuesday, the 86-year-old had his day in court and was given a year of unsupervised summary probation, which does not require reporting to a probation officer. He was also banned from driving for half a year and ordered to complete a ten-day work program.

In addition, Pelosi paid around $11,000 in restitution to the owner of the vehicle he hit, as well as fees and court fines.

“Mr. Paul Pelosi has personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle and assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle,” a Pelosi family spokesperson told San Francisco-based KRON-TV in July after the incident.

Yountville is home to the swanky French Laundry eatery that made national headlines after scofflaw Gov. Gavin Newsom was busted partying there with friends while he locked down the state’s residents during the height of the COVID pandemic.

In May 2022, months before he was clubbed with the hammer, Pelosi slammed his Porsche into a Jeep in another accident in wine country, later pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol.

A New York Times review of court records conducted in July after the latest crash found that Pelosi “had at least seven additional traffic violations in the San Francisco Bay Area over 13 years.”

“The infractions, between 2011 and 2023, include going the wrong way down a one-way street, speeding, and, on more than one occasion, driving through a red light. The violations did not appear to cause Mr. Pelosi to lose his license,” according to the newspaper.

And California roads are now much safer – at least for the next six months.
