There’s been a lot of speculation over whether Tom Brady, widely seen as the greatest NFL quarterback to ever play the game, will return for another season after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers were defeated 31-14 by the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC Wild Card Game last Monday.
At the ripe age of 45, it’s a wonder that Brady can still play the game of football at a high level — critics will suggest that he no longer is, though his stats say otherwise. And one person who seems to already be tired of wondering what’s next is the GOAT himself.
On Monday, during an episode of his ‘Lets Go!’ podcast with ex-Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and sportscaster Jim Gray, Brady was asked if he had a timetable on what he wants to do regarding his football career?
Brady snapped back, “Jim, if I knew what I was going to f**king do, I would’ve already f**king done it. Ok?”
“I’m taking it a day at a time,” he added.

Some of Brady’s teammates in Tampa Bay seemed to think he has played his last game for that team, according to the NFL Network.
“I’d be surprised if he’s back,” one player said, off the record.
“He sounded like a person saying goodbye for good,” another said.
“Hopefully, you know, I love this organization,” Brady said in a post-game press conference. “It’s a great place to be. I love everyone for welcoming me, all you regulars. And just very grateful for the respect, and I hope I gave the same thing back to you guys. So thank you very much.”
In the eyes of many, that sounded like a goodbye.
If Brady does return, sports pundits suggest he will go to a team that has all the parts in place to win a Super Bowl. Some point to the San Francisco 49ers, although the team’s rookie quarterback Brock Purdy is turning plenty of heads as the team heads into this weekend’s NFC Championship Game.
There is also talk about an unlikely return to New England with legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, where the duo reached a record nine Super Bowls, winning six.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story — to include plenty of skepticism over the soundbite — from Twitter:
This is what everyone got up in their feels about? Lolll.
Guys, it’s his own podcast. He loves Gray. They’re having fun lol.

Wow it’s amazing that on his own podcast he’d be blindsided by a question like that. If I was cynical I’d say it’s almost like they…. planned it.

That’s funny. Now please Tom. Ride off into the sunset, and enjoy your millions

He’s still just trying to be the story.

Oh for crying out loud already just answer the question or retire already! Give another young QB an opportunity to shine! Your shine is dimming! Hang it up!

“Jim, if I knew what I was going to f—— do, I would have already f—— done it. Okay? I’m taking it one day at a time.”
Tom Brady to Jim Gray on his future.
Pretty weird behavior, IMO, on your podcast, that you and your team preps…
