AOC, Dems relaunch souped-up version of their Green New Deal and the price tag could be astronomical

The controversial Green New Deal is back with a vengeance as a gaggle of Democrats led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) rolled out a souped-up version of their climate change grift that critics say could be one of the costliest schemes in history.

On Thursday, the New York City congresswoman was joined by climate cult ringleader Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), rising star Rep. Ro Khanna (R-Calif.), and a handful of other progressive lawmakers to pitch their rebooted version of the sweeping ideological agenda that would eliminate reliable fossil fuels to pave the way for the lunacy of the left’s sustainable energy utopia.

The lawmakers took turns speaking during a news conference outside the U.S. Capitol on a sunny spring afternoon, trumpeting their revised version of a scam that was ridiculed for its ambitious ideas of what it would take to reach the net-zero leftist paradise, including ridding the world of the existential threats of flatulent cows and airplanes, a grand plan that a less refined version of AOC threw her early clout behind in 2019 but as a whole, it never caught fire.

This time around, the socialist diva and her fellow climate zealots have wrapped their extreme transformational goals in a familiar cloak for big government fascism: healthcare.

“The intersecting effects of the climate crisis, social and economic inequality, gaps in health care access, and lack of worker power are making people and the planet sick. The Green New Deal for Health is a national treatment plan to help heal from these simultaneous crises by reimagining a health care system that is prepared and empowered to protect the health and well-being of our workers, our communities, and our planet,” reads a one-page summary on Senator Markey’s website.

“We need a whole-of-government, whole-of-health approach to the intersecting climate and health crises brought on by putting profits over people. We need a Green New Deal for Health,” the septuagenarian left-winger tweeted along with a short video of impending doom if the new and improved Green New Deal isn’t implemented.

Ocasio-Cortez also took to Twitter to rally the faithful, saying, “Four years ago, the Green New Deal was called ‘unrealistic.’ Last year, we fought for climate action in the IRA. That fight resulted in the largest piece of climate legislation in American history.”

“’First they laugh at you, then they fight you, then we win,’” paraphrasing the famous quote by Mohandas K . Gandhi.

In another tweet, AOC posted a link to Markey’s website and a downloadable 94-page manifesto that lays out how the sweeping changes will be implemented.

The cost of the implementation could be staggering.

At the time when the original Green New Deal was introduced, the conservative American Action Forum crunched the numbers and came up with an incredible figure of $93 trillion, a number so gigantic that it far exceeded the economic output of every nation on the planet, COMBINED, and that was a figure arrived at without the added bells and whistles of the updated version.

“Usually in this building, when we talk about cost, we talk about dollars and cents,” said young climate hustler Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) who wasn’t even a member of Congress when the first Green New Deal was introduced. “But the real cost is human life, people, communities, and so we’re here today to be their voice and work with them to build a livable future and to build a world that’s more than a livable future, it’s about a thriving, livable planet.”

The climate cult has a firm foothold in the White House and on Thursday, President Joe Biden further committed the U.S. to the uncharted territory of the net zero green dream that some less inclined toward magical thinking might suggest is less the road to salvation that had been promised, but rather a road to hell, the ultimate destination of EVERY society that has taken the great leap of faith into socialism, if not outright communism.

“We’re at a moment of great peril but also great possibilities, serious possibilities. With the right commitment and follow-through from every nation on the — in this room, in this — on this call, the goal of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees can stay within reach,” Biden said during a virtual meeting of the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate. “But it’s going to take all of us — not just one of us, not some of us — this meets the — that meet the moment. All of us. All of us have to be engaged.”

“In the four years since we first introduced the Green New Deal, the tides of our movement have risen and lifted climate action to the top of the national agenda,” Sen. Markey said in a statement. “We have demonstrated that our movement is a potent political force, and in the run-up to the 2024 elections, we will direct this power to demanding solutions to the intersectional crises Congress has yet to address: in health care, child care, schools, housing, transit, labor, and economic and racial justice.”
