AOC offers ridiculous reason why she owns a Tesla instead of a union-made EV – shares remedy

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez deflected when asked why she doesn’t own a union-made electric vehicle instead of a Tesla, ridiculously blaming it on the pandemic.

Ocasio-Cortez appeared on “Face The Nation” Sunday and promptly tripped over the question, evading a direct answer when host Margaret Brennan put her on the spot over driving a Tesla rather than a union-made electric vehicle (EV).

In 2021, the Democratic Socialist was hammered for buying a $35,000 Model 3 from Elon Musk’s non-unionized company. Brennan afforded her an opportunity to clarify that decision and predictably Ocasio-Cortez blew it by dishing out a word salad.

In 2022, the New York Democrat claimed she would “love to switch” to a union-made electric car, according to the Daily Mail. But she never did.

“Is it a problem with the quality, is it a problem with the style, is the market just not there?” Brennan asked a wildly grinning Ocasio-Cortez.

“No, our car was purchased during the pandemic when travel, mass, before a vaccine had come out so travel between New York and Washington the safest way we had determined was an EV,” she attempted to explain, head-scratchingly blaming her purchase of a Tesla on the pandemic.

“But that was prior to some of the new models coming out on the market that had the range available, but we’re actually looking into trading in our car now…and hopefully we will soon,” Ocasio-Cortez said, once again not committing to getting another electric vehicle made by union labor.

According to the Washington Examiner, “At the time of the 2020 purchase, the only domestic and union-made electric vehicle for sale was the Chevrolet Bolt. Today, the Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Ford’s F-150 Lightning pickup are also available.”

“The United Auto Workers (UAW) union is currently on a historic strike against three major carmakers and on Friday walked out of all 38 parts-distribution centers operated by General Motors and Jeep and Ram owner Stellantis in 20 states,” the Independent reported.

The New York radical was pummeled and mocked on X for deflecting from actually answering the question.

“If that makes sense to you, quit day drinking and go lay down,” @JerichoXVI posted on X.

“AOC makes word salad for breakfast, claims she bought a Tesla because the jab was not available so it was safer that way,” @BerryRazi quipped.

“Absolutely hilarious. She said the reason she bought a Tesla was because the vaccine had not come out yet,” another added.

The Ocasio-Cortez parody account on X made epic fun of her stance and pushed the meme-worthy relationship between the Democrat and Elon Musk, “For those in the media complaining – I own a Tesla because I have a crush on @elonmusk. Now what? You mad bro?”

Others hilariously picked up on the message:

Ocasio-Cortez was originally outed over her Tesla in 2021 when she parked it illegally outside Whole Foods in Washington, D.C.

Hypocritically, she had been bashing Musk’s company over millions it reportedly received in subsidies.

“When we as a public choose to invest in new technologies, we deserve a return on that investment,” Ocasio-Cortez stated in December 2018 according to the Daily Mail.

For far too long, we gave money to Tesla, we gave money to a ton of people and we got no return on our investment that the public made in creating technologies, and it’s about time we get our due because it’s the public that funded and financed a lot of innovative technologies,” she declared.

Then her hits at Tesla turned personal as she proceeded to engage in spats with Musk himself on X who told her to stop flirting with him.

“Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X.

“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk told her in a viral reply while adding a blushing emoji.

I was talking about Zuckerberg, but ok,” she responded and then deleted the post a minute later.

The dragging of Ocasio-Cortez on X was inspiring:
