Biden demands billions more for Ukraine as House GOP dials up the pressure

President Joe Biden demanded additional money for Ukraine on the same day that House Republicans dialed up the pressure on their Ukraine investigation.

Appearing on Fox Business Network this Wednesday, House Oversight Committee chair James Comer told host Maria Bartiromo that he intends to eventually subpoena the president and his family about their overseas business dealings.

“This is always going to end with the Bidens coming in front of the committee. We are going to subpoena the family. We know that this is going to end up in court when we subpoena the Bidens, so we’re putting together a case, and I think we’ve done that very well. We’ve shown the bank records,” he said.

Listen:

He also explained why he hadn’t already subpoenaed the Bidens.

“If I subpoenaed Joe and Hunter Biden the first day I became chairman of the committee, it would have been tied up in court and the judge would have eventually thrown it out. We’ve had to go every step of the way and prove that media narrative was wrong. And the vice president and the current president lied,” he said.

“We have caught Joe Biden in so many lies. I can’t even count the number of lies now. So we have put together a case that I think would stand up in any court of law in America,” he added.

As for when exactly he intends to file the subpoenas, Comer said, “We want to talk to about three or four more associates first.”

This bombshell revelation came on the same day that the president demanded more money for Ukraine.

“In a letter to lawmakers, the White House Office of Management and Budget asked for $13 billion in new military aid and $8.5 billion in additional economic, humanitarian and security assistance for Ukraine and other countries affected by the war,” according to The Washington Post.

The request was written by White House budget director Shalanda Young.

“The administration is requesting supplemental security, economic, and humanitarian assistance funding that would support Ukraine, as well as countries and vulnerable properties worldwide impacted by Russia’s unprovoked and brutal invasion of Ukraine,” she wrote.

The request comes less than a week after CNN released a survey that found that a 51 percent majority of all Americans believe the Biden administration has already spent enough on Ukraine.

When broken down, the numbers show that primarily Democrats want more spending.

“Sixty-two percent of Democrats back additional funding, compared to 44% of Independents and just 28% of Republicans. The ideological pattern is much the same: Additional funding is supported by 69% of liberals but only 44% of moderates and 31% of conservatives,” as reported by the Brookings Institution.

Meanwhile, GOP opposition to more spending is easily observable on Twitter, where the president’s latest request has inspired massive criticism:

Notice how many of the critical tweets slyly referenced Comer’s investigation into the Bidens’ overseas influence peddling.

As previously reported, Comer and other House Republicans are examining ways in which the Biden family profited off of current President Biden’s name and influence.

Massive evidence has already been uncovered showing that his youngest son, Hunter, got hired by a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, precisely because of his last name.

Even NBC News, a far-left outlet, has admitted that at least some of these accusations are true.

“From 2013 through 2018 Hunter Biden and his company brought in about $11 million via his roles as an attorney and a board member with a Ukrainian firm accused of bribery and his work with a Chinese businessman now accused of fraud,” the outlet reported back in May.

“The documents and the analysis, which don’t show what he did to earn millions from his Chinese partners, raise questions about national security, business ethics and potential legal exposure,” the outlet added.

The article also included critical quotes from Walter Shaub, a former Obama-era ethics chief.

“Shaub had previously raised questions about Hunter Biden’s new line of work, selling his own paintings, which created the potential to purchase a painting to buy perceived influence, and also because the White House became involved in the transactions, arranging that none of the buyers’ names be known to Biden, the White House or the public,” according to NBC News.
