Big brawl breaks out in stands at 49ers-Giants game days after Patriots fan killed in stands

Attending NFL games these days can result in as much action in the stands as there is on the field — the difference being that they are not playing a game in the stands.

A big brawl broke out during the Thursday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants, with all the combatants appearing to be hometown Niners fans — considering San Francisco had little trouble with the hapless Giants, one might think their fans would be in a jolly mood.

Two women are seen on video fighting and just as one of them is about to rip the other’s wig off a burly man wearing a massive gold chain snatches her back by her hair with one hand while clinging to his Stella Artois beer with the other hand. The yank failed to prevent the other woman from being de-wigged.

Another male fan enters the picture and the burly man proceeds to wail away first at him and then at the woman he pulled away earlier, having apparently found a safe place for his beer because he was now using both hands.

In another video, a man wearing a white shirt has entered the fray, acting in the role of peacekeeper. Meanwhile the game continues, even though most fans in the immediate area were watching the scrum in the stands.

And while it appears that everyone escaped with little damage, a vicious brawl Sunday night in Foxborough, Mass., wasn’t as fortunate.

The game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins was marred by the death of a hometown fan who got into an altercation with a Dolphins fan.

Patriots season ticket holder Dale Mooney, 53, was “beaten to death” at Gillette Stadium, according to witnesses.

The father of two was reportedly involved in a scuffle and took a blow to his face that resulted in him being rendered unconscious — he would never regain consciousness.

“He basically grabbed another fan,” a fan said. “They started tussling around for a few minutes. At one point, another fan walked over. He punched him three times and the man just went out. It was pretty hard to watch.”

“It was really one punch that I saw and the victim got punched really hard on the side of the head, and went down. He’s a bigger guy but he just crumbled,” another witness said.
