Black activists ask why billions go to migrants while reparations stall

Black supremacists are reportedly upset with New York Democrats for trying to dole out reparations not only to them but also to other minorities as well.

According to Fox News, state Democrats have put together a proposed reparations plan that would “include other marginalized groups and recent immigrants” besides just black Americans.

The Foundational Black Americans (FBA), a group of veritable black supremacists, isn’t happy about the proposal.

FBAs are reportedly a creation of black supremacist Tariq Nasheed:

“I think it’s important because as Foundational Black Americans who’ve been here since the founding of the country, coming in as slaves, and also indigenous people who are here, we have a claim to the country,” FBA member Aubrey Muhammad told Fox News.

“We have our own culture, and we deserve to be compensated for what our ancestors have been put through,” he added.

Muhammad was one of several FBAs who testified recently before the New York State Community Commission on Reparations Remedies.

While testifying, Muhammad reportedly accused New York Democrats of importing “Latinos” to fill “voting rolls” as “replacements for us.” He also complained that these Latinos are “gentrifying” black neighborhoods.

“The Democrats, in a sick way, imported 25 million immigrants,” he told Fox News. “And 70 percent of them came into poor black neighborhoods. Hempstead, since the ’90s, has been flooded with immigrants. That’s taking the resources, putting them towards others.”

Several speakers at the recent Commission hearing were part of “The United States Freedmen Project,” a group of FBAs committed to highlighting the difference between blacks who are directly descended from slaves and every other type of minority, particularly immigrants.

It’s not clear why Democrats don’t call the FBA “racist” and “xenophobic” the way they do to right-wingers who make similar points about the difference between American natives of European descent and American immigrants. Especially since FBAs are so critical of Democrats like Rep. Premila Jayapal, who recently asserted that immigrants built America:

Regardless, Freedmen Project members believe, surprisingly enough, that any reparations bill shouldn’t be based on race. Instead, it should be based purely on lineage to slavery.

“If those are based on race, they’re going to be shot down like affirmative action, like the Fearless Fund, like the farmer’s bill,” Freedmen Project spokesperson Divine Prince told Fox News.

Commission member Dr. Ron Daniels reportedly acknowledged the Freedmen Project’s supposed point during the recent hearing.

“The idea that we feel that we should somehow craft something that will not in some way look like it’s racial is somewhat problematic,” he said. “We do have a legal team, we have legal counsel, and there is a whole body of lawyers who, in fact, are dealing with… an injury- and harm-based proposition in terms of how to present reparations.”

The FBAs received pushback during the hearing from the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU). Susan Gottehrer, the director of the local NYCLU  branch, argued that basing reparations on race would be wise.

“These government policies have affected black New Yorkers regardless of lineage,” she said. “Excluding a subset of black Americans would leave a significant portion of documented racial injustice completely unexamined.”

Muhammad didn’t care for what she had to say.

“The ACLU just wants funding so they get some of our reparations money to pay for these other causes,” he said to Fox News. “They form these organizations, they give them funding, and they bless these immigrants—they bless these other groups, marginalized groups.”

Brooke Lean, a Freedmen Project fan, agreed.

“They want to erase our story, dilute our story by adding in a bunch of people who just got here, whose ancestors did not build this country,” she said.
