Black people do not appreciate the belief by white liberals that they’re too dumb to obtain a voter ID.
Journalist Ami Horowitz discovered this five years ago while interviewing white residents of Berkeley, California, and black residents of East Harlem.
What he found was that local white liberals thought black people were essentially inferior beings too slow and dimwitted to perform the most basic functions that normal, everyday people take for granted, including visiting their local DMV/BMV to obtain a voter ID.

Every white Berkeley resident Horowitz spoke to derided voter ID laws that require voters to present identification to vote as racist.
“I think voter ID laws are a way to perpetuate racism,” one white local said.
Why?
“Because they [black people] are less likely to have state IDs,” another local white person added.
But why not?
Because “these types of people” — their words — “don’t live in areas with easy access to DMVs and other places where they can get identification,” a third Berkeley white resident told Horowitz.
Another white resident suggested black people don’t have access to the Internet because they can’t afford to pay the monthly service fee.
Even worse, one resident said, “I feel like they [black people] don’t have the knowledge of how it [the Internet] works.”
“For most of the communities, they don’t really know what is out there because they’re not really aware or they’re not informed,” another resident said.
“I also think there’s a repression of, like, black voting with, how if you’re a convicted felon, you’re not allowed to vote and everything,” one resident said. “And when you look at swing states like Florida, that’s a huge population of the African Americans.”
FYI, an estimated 3.356 million blacks live in Florida. Meanwhile, only around 80,000 inmates total (white and black) are housed in the Florida Department of Corrections.

After speaking with Berkeley’s white residents, Horowitz hopped on over to East Harlem to see how black people felt about their white counterparts’ misguided, “ignorant” beliefs.
“Why would they think we don’t have ID?” one annoyed black resident asked.
“That’s a lie,” another said in response to the white people’s claims. “Why would they say that?”
“I have my ID, and my friends have their ID,” a young East Harlem resident added.
“Everybody I know has ID,” another resident said.
When pressed about the claim that black people lack access to the Internet, the young East Harlem resident was shocked.
“That’s just stupidity, honestly,” he replied. “Everybody has access to the Internet. Even little kids can figure out how to work the Internet.”
“I’ve had access to the Internet for years,” another local, an older black woman, said.
When asked, all the residents agreed that the white people’s remarks were “ignorant” and “racist.”
“They’re pretty much ignorant,” one local pithily said.
“I think it is a little racist because you’re putting people in a category but you have no idea what you’re talking about,” another added.
Speaking of which, California’s radical, white-majority legislature of leftists has just passed a bill banning local jurisdictions from instituting voter ID laws. Why?
“An overwhelming body of evidence proves that voter ID laws only subvert voter turnout and create barriers to law-abiding voters,” the bill’s author, state Sen. Dave Min, reportedly wrote.
Sound familiar? His words should because they perfectly echo the “ignorant,” “racist” remarks made by the white residents of Berkeley.
Dear Joe Biden. It’s not difficult for blacks and minorities to obtain a voter ID. I have a California License with photo ID. Stop lying to America about voter suppression.

The bill was reportedly passed to spite Huntington Beach, which earlier this year approved its own voter ID requirement for municipal elections.
“California does not require identification to vote, but earlier this year, the City of Huntington Beach approved a voter ID requirement for municipal elections starting in 2026,” The Center Square notes. “This bill would override Huntington Beach’s policy.”
