Brian Kilmeade presses Marco Rubio to break down the Ukraine negotiations

Secretary of State Marco Rubio joined Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade to talk about Ukraine, and how President Donald Trump has been negotiating the end of the war.

Regarding the precious earth mineral deal Trump proposed as a way for Ukraine to reimburse the United States for wartime aid, Rubio revealed that is very close to being ready,

“Our Secretary of the Treasury Bessent has done a great job of putting that together, so my last indication is that we’re very close to the finish line,” he revealed.

“We still want to end this war, that’s the important thing the president’s made very clear. He campaigned on it,” Rubio added.

“President Zelenskyy and the president clashed last week, there’s no doubt about it. This week is gonna be different, it looks like President Zelenskyy is gonna be here in Washington this week. How much friction is between President Zelenskyy and President Trump?” Kilmeade asked.

“There’s a lot of stuff in the media about it but at the end of the day the president’s objective is clear, he wants the war to stop. And to do that you have to have both sides agree to it, right?” Rubio responded. “We talked to Zelenskyy and I think what the president was irritated by was this argument that we haven’t talked to Ukraine. After President Trump spoke to Putin, who he hasn’t spoken to in four years, he picked up the phone – I was there for both calls – and called Zelenskyy. President Zelenskyy met with the treasury secretary, then he met with me and the vice president.”

“So he has had engagements, constant engagements,” Rubio clarified.
