Nothing stops “Little Mick” from having a good time.
British soccer fan Michael Hewitt was “blissfully unaware” that his family was panicked in England after he missed his flight to the U.S. while in Spain.

Hewitt, 65, also known as “Little Mick,” became stuck amid an extended layover in Barcelona after losing his phone and plane tickets.
Did that minor setback crush Hewitt’s celebratory spirit? Heck no!
“He lost his phone soon after arriving in Barcelona, and didn’t know any of the phone numbers stored on it,” Hewitt’s brother Gary told The Sun.
“He didn’t think to go to the Embassy as he still had his passport and money so didn’t think they’d be interested,” he said. “Instead, he just got on with enjoying Barcelona, watching the England matches in the bars.”
Hewitt originally had planned to be in Boston to see England play Ghana on June 23rd.
Thankfully, Hewitt had posted a Facebook photo of himself at a Barcelona bar a few days before losing his phone, his flight, and apparently all internet access(???).
After going dark and having no contact with family, a full-fledged international investigation was launched to find “Little Mick.”
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Interpol put out their feelers, as did Hewitt’s family on social media, when after TEN days the British Embassy in Spain tracked him down at his hotel through his digital payments.
Hewitt’s family was extremely relieved and grateful.
“As a family, we desperately wanted an embarrassingly simple but happy ending to this horrendous episode, and we now have that,” Gary said.
“It’s amazing what can be achieved when the good people of the world go Marching on Together,” he said.
Glad it was a happy ending. Cheers, Little Mick!
