The mother of Chicago’s Laugh Factory manager, Nathan Griffin, is claiming her son was “kidnapped by Border Patrol.”
According to authorities, Griffin was arrested after he allegedly “attempted to impede and obstruct federal officers” who were carrying out immigration enforcement action. It is claimed that he tried to shut a vehicle door on an agent’s leg, which is a big no-no, despite what leftists will try to tell you.
“The individual was immediately detained and turned over to the FBI for investigation,” the Border Patrol advised.
Chicago, IL—an ICE operation outside the Laugh Factory ended with the night manager Nathan Griffin arrested.
Right on cue, bystanders yelled “he didn’t do anything”—apparently obstruction and assault don’t count now. pic.twitter.com/G5knocf1z9

Because of this alleged behavior, Griffin was taken to the ground and cuffed, much to the displeasure of the gathering audience, including his own mother. She posted a dramatic Instagram video in which she accused federal authorities of “kidnapping” Griffin.

“For those of you who don’t know, I was in Chicago visiting my son, and he was kidnapped by Border Patrol in front of my eyes,” she said. “When I think about going out the door in the morning, I don’t want to… Because I do not want to encounter the SUV, the screams, the crying, and the horrific things that I saw before I was pulled into the fray when somebody tried to kidnap my son.”
A GoFundMe has been set up to help Griffin pay for legal costs, and the description is exactly what you might expect.
“My brother-in-law Nathan was detained by border patrol officers today in Chicago, despite the fact that he is a natural-born American citizen,” it reads. “After being arrested and hidden throughout the system, he finally resurfaced about 4 hours after his detainment in FBI custody, awaiting a hearing for a federal assault charge, which could carry 8 years in prison if convicted.”
But most people didn’t have much sympathy:
