CNN quick to roll out former G-man Andrew McCabe to tarnish Trump nominee Kash Patel

Another attempt to smear Kash Patel as a “danger” from former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe raised the point of who the latest nomination really threatened.

Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump delivered another round of nominations to staff his second administration that included tapping Patel to be the next director of the FBI. In response to the announcement about the former public defender and federal official, McCabe’s latest lamentation about the “profoundly unqualified” pick said more about him and his peers.

“What we should really be thinking about right now is, what does this signal in terms of Donald Trump’s intent for the FBI?” asked the disgraced deputy director during an appearance on CNN that prompted Breitbart News senior editor-at-large Joel Pollak to call out the entrenched bureaucracy.

“They hate Kash Patel and can never explain why,” Pollak captioned a clip of McCabe’s appearance. “It’s because he busted them spying on Trump and his campaign. They’ve been trying to ‘get’ him ever since, but they’ve failed, because he’s above board. He’s just smarter than they are and unlike them, he’s willing to tell the truth.”

During the fearmongering stint, the former G-man had contended of Patel’s nomination, “It’s a terrible development for the men and women of the FBI and also for the nation that depends on a highly functioning, professional, independent Federal Bureau of Investigation.”

“The fact that Kash Patel is profoundly unqualified for this job is not even like a matter for debate,” he argued.

McCabe further suggested the nomination, “can only possibly be a plan to disrupt, to dismantle, to distract the FBI, and to possibly use it as a tool for the president’s political agenda. And you know, as an organization, we know what that, what that looks like.”

“This country has been there before, right? The pre-Watergate FBI, the J. Edgar Hoover FBI struck fear in the hearts of Americans across the spectrum of politicians, people in entertainment, people in the civil rights community because the director operated at the direction of presidents to collect political intelligence and to utilize the legal authorities, the investigative authorities of the FBI to terrorize and intimidate Americans,” he went on driving home concerns about a weaponized federal government that ignored the experiences of citizens who reported being targeted under the Biden administration.

“So the question is, is that where we’re going back to with this nomination?” wondered McCabe. “I would argue that Kash Patel would be the perfect person for Donald Trump to nominate if that’s in fact his intent for the FBI.”

When the deputy director had previously bemoaned the potential nomination, Patel had fired back with a challenge for “proof.”

“So if anyone has a complaint about that and questions my unwavering commitment to the Constitution, I’m happy to talk to them about it,” he told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo having recounted his résumé of service in the government. “I’m especially happy to talk to the media about it.”

“But you can look at my record, and those calling me a danger, let’s just ask them for proof, a piece of evidence that actually shows I’ve committed any constitutional violations or any ethical quandaries,” said Patel, “and I’d love to hear their response to this.”

To Pollak’s point, Patel had served as lead investigator in exposing Russiagate and the infamous Steele Dossier, and other users on social media agreed “panic” was setting in.
